Ombudsman Feedback Thread.

To allow oversight. I am creating this thread for feedback and minority opinions. (such as a judge on the supreme court would write if he disagreed with a ruling.)



Anyone can post here, no limits. Try and cut down on the spam though, but if you have to spam anywhere in here...might as well be this thread.



Mods - Let me know if you agree with my decisions, or if not explain your reasons.

Forum Folk - Post if you agreed or disagreed with my opinion, explain your position to help me do a better job.


What it boils down to is this.

I am here for you..period. I am here to help. Helping me better how I handle this position, will only help the community as a whole.

I think you're doing a good job. You've handled disputes fairly, and given everybody a chance to add their two cents. I don't see what more can be asked of an ombudsman.

don't quite agree with you allowing people to spam this thread. the admin team is pushing for the enforcement of rules. you're deviating from it. if we are to succeed in cleaning up the forums, we have to uniformly follow the rules and dish out the penalties for those who violate them.

if appear to be inconsistent, then we give the forum users a reason to not follow the rules.

if we want buck, lore and robe to succeed, we have to help them by being consistent.

This is my section, and it operates by the ombudsmans rules. Spam has it's place and use, and it allows people to get things off their chest without fear of repercussions. Thus, it can act as a release valve before people explode in another section or another thread in this section.

My job, is to be a link between player and admin, and to help settle disputes. Here is not a place to dish out penalties unless they break the rules that I have stated, and i'm pretty lenient. This is because most of the people who end up here already have a hot head, so i try to understand that.

Consistency is a good thing across the forum, but this is the gray area. And because of this, it operates differently.

Thank you for your input though, i'll remember it, though I doubt that I will find a need to enforce it here.
