suppose it depends who you are on the inside
are you ethical? or is your wallet gathering moths?

Re: Piracy vs Copyright Laws
I consider that I have already given my contribution to their multi million/billion $ companies if I watch something in the cinema
But I aint shelling out more cash for something I can get for free.
*cough* I mean if I choose to

Re: Piracy vs Copyright Laws
i'm all for "file sharing" but i stay away from "street vendors" as most likely they are illegal aliens who came looking for a better life and now have no choice, "sell it or die".
you also have to keep in mind that most of these people selling pirate films, music games on the streets are selling very poor copy's and last but by no means least, its more than likely a form of money laundering....
but as i said, i'm all for file sharing on the net, its free and doesn't involve the criminal element, at least i hope it doesn't

the industry has been over charging the consummer for years, they charge $30 on a CD filled with 18 (if your lucky these days) tracks. itunes can sell them for $1.69 per track. bout time we got some of our money back

Re: Piracy vs Copyright Laws
4 years ago I was doing a high school project on this issue and for the life of me a cant remember where I found the figures but since I still have the project the figures where:
Music industry: $12 billion is lost to pirates(this figure acurate 4 years ago)
Total made - $12 bill came to a total of $739 billion...so almost nothing
I didn't have movie figures as that wasn't the scope of my project but I would imagine its about the same ratio...
As for games, 1st I download it, if its good I buy it, if not, i uninstall and delete the ISO's(Prime example = Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway...Downloaded, enjoyed, bought)...Piracy PWNS
