If Wraith have the advantage of the "Raid" technique, they'd need a conequence. IE: Not attacking for a certain period of time makes the wraith dormant (lack of food) and they become untrained units.

perhapes insteed of gaining untrained troops in a raid type attack the wraith sould get an amount of Naquadah per troop taken in battle, something along the lines of 10% of the units cost.

K as long as the advantage is not that powerful they would not need a disadvantage, like the one the asgard or the tauri have cause of the large increase to one stat. As for the sugestion i supose its god as it would force the player to be more aggresive.

I considered a "hibernation phase" in which the ability is only activated after the given player gets out of the 1000's. Because I'm thinking the modefiers would permit the wraith from gaining much from players of a way lower rank than themselves!

It would be good if the Wraith was given the option, would you like the soldiers to be your meal, or will you keep them around to work in your naquadah mines? Perhaps some have been psyonically weakened by your influence and will fight and die in you name?

There are a million and one bonuses that could be both original and unique to Wraith. If we give them smaller bonuses, we could include more bonuses!! This may not seem fair to other races, but when you consider the fact we would have to limit the powers of RAID heavily you will be glad! But who would want to play Wraith with a weak ass raid? I say we include up to 4 useful, yet handicapped Raid Related bonuses:

1.Steal untrained (this is included with each attack)
AND THEN YOU ARE GIVEN THESE THREE OPTIONS:

2.Keep the troops you steal

3.Convert each into an instant Naq Bonus during the attack (or maybe an overall 25%?). Adding more to the spoils you would originally recieve.

4.Convert the units to untrained "minions" None of that untrained merc bull!! But this would have to have its vices as well!! I know a few good places to kill over 60+ mercs with one turn each!! So this should be limited heavily!!

Many people want to see attacks more profitable, or find updates that antagonize battle. What better way to do this that to add another offensive inclined race to SGW? Yes, we have the Tauri, but lets get an Evil race with some offensive tactics of their own to rival them!! These would be the fireworks you are after!

Where is this on Gateworld refering to the bug race in SGA S2 SGC_Replicators? Give us a link.

yeah i can see what you meen, but I've thorgh of a ballance, I'll tell you it later!

They are only supremely powerful in the series. That doesn't mean they will be here. Just look at the Replicators - in the series they almost annihilated the Asgard, and crushed the Goa'uld in a matter of weeks, yet here they are firmly entrenched in last place.


Of all the potential races that could be built into this game, I think the Wraith would be the most interesting. They have loads of potential, and are unlike any other race (unlike say the Tok'ra or the Tollans).


I agree but i think this could help provent a rep domanite game, no ofence but at the min your the best race in my opiniun, or is it because you help each outher get hegher covert lvls?

I think they shoud louse so meney Untraind Units a turn :!: Because they need them to stay alive!, and it wouh counter their grateness about them!.
There could be an updraid so that they dont need as meney to stay alive.
If they run out of UU they could start turning into mercs like sujusted erleyer in the Forum.

This is the best thorghtout plain I've ever seen!

You realize how old this is right? And while I agree this is well thoguht out...Adding the wraiths suggests this is still about StarGate...Which it isn't.

I am confused. Not about StarGate?

Coming back to the topic at hand though - in my Wraith thread I suggested the idea of the Wraith stealing more Naquadah than the other races in a successful attack. That's not overpowering (assuming the limit is imposed that the Wraith player cannot steal more than the defender actually possesses), and we can all rest easy knowing out Untrained Units are safe and sound.
