Untrained mercs.

This has probably been asked before, but as there are like 12 pages for me to go through that could take forever, but i was just wondering, what are the point of the untrained mercs? i know they used to actually go into battle and stuff, but now they don't seem to really be doing anything besides selling for 900 naq, just wondering if they had more of a purpose than that.

yes you can give them to your officers so they can sell the mercs for 900 if you dont have ss

and yup no other use
