Current SGW Legends/Great Players

I see a lot of threads which contain the names of people... well I've never heard of being listed as Legends or great players. I'm sure they were and I'm sure if they were still playing they'd be great, but let's massage the egos of some of the players who are currently active...

Who then with the proviso that they must be active now, are some of the greatest/legendary players in your opinion?

They both helped me a lot when i first started playing.

Could have added more - like a lot of FS and Reborn - but they know they're good - and kinda lost touch with who's still playing from 'the old guard'.

And yes, who is TheWay? I could write pages of stuff on why all of the above are legends/great players, but never heard of this 'TheWay' chap/chapess....

Just because you don't know who someone is, doesn't make them a bad player. I know TheWay, he's a great player, though no sniperbull, I am not who you think I am.

Hmm though to be honest with your list Wolf, I'd doubt some of your lists abilities ingame. - shrug- this is a personal choice so no biggie.

no one called "theway" abad player wolf like myself asked who is he as this is a list of current legends who are still active.. and if we dont know him we would like to be enlightned as for wolf's abilities he led on of the best alliances of its time an original member of the GA then DDE may have been the first empire but wolf's EPA was the first Confederation of alliances under one banner not a rag tag team of misfits like the current task force... lol

and this isnt favoritism me and wolf359 have had a long history of problems with each other ingame since the early begining of OoC/EPA the order wars to know but I respect him as a man and a player he is a legend in my book ..

Hmm sorry I wasn't clearer. TheWay is a good player, just that not many are likely to know about him. So it's more of a list of personal taste and choice. I definitely do not agree with some of Wolf's list partially because I don't think some of them are 'great' and partially because some are inactive. TheWay is sniperbull's choice, that's all and for sniperbull he's a great player though maybe not for others.

Hmmm - I don't think anyone on my list is inactive - possibly Magni - but then I did state that.

You are right - just because we don't know somebody, it doesn't mean they aren't great - but I think you missed REK's point - if you are going to state someobody is a Legend, or great, then at least tell us why. With the list I have made, there is little need to say why as a simple search through the forum, or speaking with other players, will show you why.

So the point is - if we don't know why they're Legends or why they're great - then tell us!!!! Otherwise we'll never know! They may not be a bad player - but that doesn't necessarily make them great.

Nobody's having a dig mate - we just want to know why you think he's great.

As for my list:

REK - took control of Dark Dominium when old leader left. They were good at the time, but REK turned them into an Empire to be reckoned with, through fighting and forging alliances. Central character in the game and forums, whether you love him or hate him. DDE have grown stronger every day he has been in charge.

Robe - was a major thorn in the side of the GA and was, ultimately, the one player who caused the GA the most grief. Created and led Crystal Force - an Empire of approximately 4 alliances, and led the group of alliances known as The Faction against the GA in what was the GA's toughest war. Also a skilled diplomat, can compete with the best in the Forum. Currently a leader of one of The Legion Empire Alliances.

Magni (possibly still playing) - an old school player and one of my best adversaries. My main interaction with Magni was during the EPA/Order war. Magni had more of an effect on The Order and possessed far more leadership qualities than their leader. Ironically, it later emerged that Magni's position in The Order was not what it appeared to be and that he had in actual fact played a blinder against more than just the EPA. Can also back up his game with a formidable forum presence.

Severian (still playing? Haven't seen in a while) - A main player behind The Legion, one of the best posters in the forum, formidable presence in game - not really a lot else to say.

Brdavs - ditto.

BMMJ13 - first came across this guy when he joined one of my old alliances (NEO - New Earth Organisation). Didn't know much about him, but then we went to war with Forgotten Serenity and this guy proved to be a skillful and persistent warrior (up there with the JaseBs, generoneills and TauriDundees!) and dedicated alliance member. Always first to help out in a fight.

Slugg - I meant to take him off the list earlier, as I don't think he's playing anymore (at least I couldn't see him in-game) - but was an EPA battlemaster (along with JaseB), and put his talents to good use when he joined TLE following the disbandment of the EPA. Although he never forgot his EPA home, and came to the aid of NEO members on more than one occassion.

Clarkey - Didn't know much about Clarkey until this year - but have been constantly impressed by his dedication to hunt down and punish (in a multitude of ways_ players who he believes are hurting the game, his help towards newer players, and his skillful posting ability in the forum.

Semper - A constant and strong presence in the game and the forum for a long, long time. No pretence to grandeur, but capable of delivering a hard blow whether in game or via the forum. He's more like me than I am!

Jack - Much like Semper, but with aggressive attitude. Although he has tempered that attitude well in his role as a Supermod in the forum - and has such has given me cause to eat a large slice of humble pie (he's a great for that feat alone!).

If you don't agree, it doesn't really matter as the topic asks for who we personally think are Legends or great, so whether people agree with me or not is irrelevant. The only difference is that some people have asked why 'TheWay' fits into this category.... We ask because we want to know, not because we're being derogatory....
