Do you speak english?

Not a rhetorical question, I'm just asking if you people do SPEAK [well] english (not write/type, speak, like in phone etc).
OF COURSE, it does NOT concern American, British, Canadian, Australian people and every other country/island which has english as native language.
I'm wondering as writing is a thing, talking it is another!

I do speak it averagely. Problems with accent sometimes, but can say it's well speaking. :)
How about you?

Re: Do you speak english?

My native language is Afrikaans, though my English isn't too bad. It is one of our country's major languages, however. I think in many of former British colonies you'll find that English is a fairly well spoken language.

Re: Do you speak english?

The phrase "I talk it perfectly" lacks proper grammar.
You do not "talk" a language, you "speak" or "use" it.

Oh, no I wouldn't. In the interest of everyone here, I educate all who did not notice that minor error.

This is, after all, a thread where people claim mastery of English.

Well, I think game set and match really. I dont have anything to add.

Although, maybe you could have left it, let more people choose it as an option and then point it out. There is that dark humour of mine again...
That way does leave it open for someone else to steal the opportunity..hmmm...

Accent... problems?

Having a strong accent doesn't denote an inability to speak a language perfectly. There is no 'correct' dialect for English - not even the clipped, precise BBC version which we ram down the rest of the world's throats.

It's true, but the author, who made the spelling mistake, did not claim mastery of English. He claimed to be "average" only.

*admit sheepishly*
I did not notice it. :-(
