I won the "Gentleman of the year" award at my old school....I'd consider myself a nice guy, and I have this weird, westernised ideology about karma, which at its basic is: what goes around comes around. So I try my best to be a nice person, even in a game, but I don't doubt I have done some things that have annoyed other people. What if you change your presupisition. I am a Christian and as such believe that the ultimate goal is to die and be in perfect relationship with my creator. The interesting thing about thsi idea is that it requires you to follow (or at least try) the precepts of scripture which is to love others as yourself and think of others as more important. I could go and on but it is no wonder so many fall prey to exestentialisms woes when we only think of what we want.

NOT atttt allllllll..... its aposteriori knowledge. The % signs in my post demonstrate that to a degree.. I did not say getting ahead requires you to hurt others, nor did I say that it is a selfish endeavour, I said 'In this world'....this very material world, where getting ahead means having a bigger stick standing in front of a bigger pile of money then the guys standing around you.

EVERY SINGLE act humans perform is a selfish one. That is not debatable, you give me every choice you can think of and I will prove to you the selfish motivation behind it... lets say you act like a goody two shoes on earth to give yourself to god, which in turn grants you eternal life and eternal happiness. Every (well maybe not every act, or moral you hold dear, but you get my gist) act you perform on earth towards that goal is just that, its a means to an end, a selfish choice to allow you to reach that goal. Even the great act of surrendering yourself to God is not an act anyone makes or chooses to work towards without the knowledge of a benefit from it, deny that all you want, but you are a liar if you do. its a path to enlightenment that people want, if you did not want it, then you would not pursue it. Yes, you may do perform some things that can be considered "selfless" and "good" locally, but in the grand scheme of things....nope...

Its the same with your...idea of having a perfect relationship with the creator...its all a means to an end. You may be nice, but I am pretty certain that of the 80% none of them are true practitioners of the faith to that degree, if at all. You may get ahead beyond THIS world, but as for this place, this planet being the nice guy all the time never pays. You will learn this before you meet your maker, of that I am certain. Then again, in this very vein, thats why they created confession.

To further it as well, even that 'getting ahead' (this religious trollop nonsense...), is something you have only reached by acting on a station as low as everyone else, its just society and herd morality make it look a little better....

of course you will disagree with me, or twiddle your thumbs and say..yes...you are entitled to your own opinion...well...thats great..thats what I say... and until you can very nicely show all these wonderful people in the forum that have not been indoctrinated into religion through either some negative events, hard back parents or a partner they would just die for, that God and this wonderful morality you live by truly exist, then I think they will sit on the bench of reality with me. This world is Godless, even if the great creator does exist, you or anyone else in your faith could never understand or communicate with it by your own reckoning. After all, God is perfect isn't it? Omniscient? Omnipotent? Omnipresent? Omnibenevolent? Yet, wasnt it originally aggressive and angry? soddom and gomorrah?

It's all a little muddled these days where christianity and the rest of it is going...seems like its conforming to the masses to me, to keep its members. I mean, without members the church, in any guise...would not exist?

The point of me saying all that is...I wont accept anything religious based like those points as anything concrete or solid in any kind of debate. The church changes to please those who practise, not to please God.

I will say this though i totally understand your view because like most people n your same mind set you ahve probally never met someone hwo practices what they preach and so you ahve little to know first hand experiance for which to measure my statements. My act in surrendering to God was selfless mostly because I in my fallen nature did not and where not capable of surrendering but by the grace of God through sanctification he ahs transformed my mind so that I now desire to live and to die for God. I in my wretched heart still am selfish but thanks be to Christ Jesus who died for me and gave me life that I could not ahve of my own accord.

You are right that most who claim the name of Christ do not follow his precepts and that is why Nieche said God is dead and we killed him. Had I seen the hypocracy that he saw I may have seperate from God's intervention came to the same logical conclusion. Let me say this and you can hold me to it, "to live is Christ and to die is gain"

Those saying that this is StargateWARS, uhm... your way of war is plain stupid and involves no fun whatsoever. If you'd like to compare your 'tactics' with a real life war you'd be the one ordering a mass rush to your troops as you know you have tons of them left.

Now... here you have those tons of troops so you can do that, but still the fact remains that if you get some fun out of pure random masses that have no reason, no point, no anything,... well to say the very least you have no idea on how to play a game.

And it is true that it is too easy to mass, that's why this is happening. Change that and you'll have a lot less people massing,... or just make something that will make the one massing need/lose more resources then the defender.

I also agree it should cost a ton more to mass someone, that way wars end quicker because in order to hurt the enemy you to must suffer loses. In RL no matter your force if the other side has the same technology you are going to lose alot and in many cases even with superior odds could easily lose.

That being said, There is always a reason. I cant think of any massing there hasnt been a reason for. Attacking? Attacking someones friend? Annoying someone on the forums? Annoying someone a long time ago...Revenge anfterall, Is a dish best served cold...

All of these reasons are not always obvious...

i don't agree with anyone in this thread infact i would go so far to say that, i wub ya guys and jenny too even though i don't really know her..... but yha i left the game well over a year ago because the massing and raiding where getting to be too much for me....but yha i just wanna hug all of ya....
