Doesn't count, Z.

By extension of that argument we would have a new "100k-th registrant" every few months, because of the rising and falling of the number of registered players. :?

Re: oh my god pattern

I think his point was to say that there have been over 100k accounts registered since the game began - some have been deleted, that's all.

The ID's didn't jump to 7 digit ID's until after it passed the 6 digit ID's, therefore it once reached 100,000.

Re: oh my god pattern

And to settle the debate once and for all, I give you account id 100,000.

Is currently a Tauri by the name Hephaistos, and looks to be among the inactive.

Re: oh my god pattern

If I recall well, the jump to 1900000s IDs happend when Brian had an hacker/cheater after him, and he wanted to make a new account that would go unnoticed by the hacker/cheater or something like that, and admin decided to do it. Perhaps I'm wrong though.

woulnd'tve been unnoticed with such a high ID

Brian got hacked, and I think while Jason was making him a new account he changed the ID to the 1 900 000's. Consequently, any account created after that will be created in succession of +1 to the next highest ID.
Generally when J makes new accounts he doesn't actually delete the old account, he simply copies it to a new ID. He makes new accounts instead of editing the old one or deleting the old one (he let's the old one sit there or he vac's it)

i think ID's went as high as 106 000's when it got changed to 1 900 000's.

Re: oh my god pattern

More like 120k's.. :o And I remember the copying. :o Zomg.. you'd log in on the wrong one, and then switch to the correct one while being logged in, oi oi oi, that was some messy business.

All in all, aside from losing planets, officers, treaties and messages, the switches I've had have been quite quickly and smoothly done. :)
