Not the place to be discussing this Gentlement
Sorry Bill I have to step in here.
Shamless you oviously have a problem with Clarkey. If you have any comments make them to him in private.
Clarkey Dont bother answering it will just fuel him more.
Now if Bill has an issue with this he will deal with it.
Time for you to step up

(first of all, this has nothing to do with me not becoming a mod, this is clear observation for anyone too see)
MODS should not post in this topic as you will just swap the topic away from what its meant for.
Time for you to step up and find out whats going on with the mods, clearly there is something going on, look at some of the recent ones promoted not exactly a good track record, and then today we have 2 mods quit, Deni, who was a mod, and the head market mod, who always sorted the issues in the market that i pointed her towards, then Clarkey who also seems to have stepped down too, and as much as i think this guy as the sense of humor of a dead horse, he still did a hell of alot around here regards bug/cheaters.
2 years ago people complained that the forums where unfair and bias because it was OE that where mainly in control, and now well just look, im sure if you asked privately the mods would tell you exactly where the source of the problem lies, only they dont have the power to do anything about it,
I think its time to maybe swap some of the forum admins around, to get some new life up there, as clearly there is an issue with 1 or 2 of them and most of the mod team.
Jason always wanted the mods to run themselves via promotions etc well that only works when the top of the chain is fair, and well at the moment it is not, this is clear to see now.
Ill try catch you on msn if i see you about.
Thanks
This post is from me, a forum user to the Ombudsman, about issues that i see getting worse unless stopped now, Mods should not post here.
General Chaos,
I understand your position, but you must realize that this puts me in a awkward position. It is not my job
to review, investigate, or rule for or against the forum admins. I work for 2 bosses, admin/user and judge on
decisions made by the mods. On rare occasions, I have taken up issues that involve admins, but it is very much a gray area.
That being said, let me try my best here.
I do not know why Deni was let go, I have my opinions, but they will remain private at the moment. Suffice to say, there were personality conflicts between Deni and other members of the leadership.
Clarkey, had my recommendation to be a supermod. But, RL and his new Admin position make it difficult for him to split his time. Any other reasons besides that, are not mine to post.
As for the selection of the moderators, I am of the opinion that everyone selected deserves a chance.
They might not have been my picks, but I was given a chance to give my input and I did so for those I felt deserved a chance.
Supermods and I gave our input and the admins made their decision.
I've known all three admins for a long time.
Robe - Has been my friend and enemy during various occasions throughout my time in SGW. From Meh to Pianomutt
Regardless of her personal opinion, she strives to do the best job she possibly can. But she is human, remember that
nobody is perfect before judging.
Lore - An old friend from before my departure, I have a great deal of respect for him. He's logical in his decisions, and always polite in his judgements.
Buck - Alas, administratorship has taken our spam king away. I remember him as being the "jack" of the forums. Buck, is impartial, unbending, and can be ruthless at times. This makes him an excellent admin
It's not my job to recommend and/or suggest any admin step down or be replaced. They are selected by the admin, whom has the upmost confidence in their ability. Weekly meetings go on between forum admins/moderators/ombudsman/Jason, and issues are addressed as needed on a regular basis. I've even taken a permaban case directly to admin jason. (need to check on that btw)
All I can recommend is this.
Wait and see, if they mess up and do a bad job. I myself will approach the admins from my position and request their dismissal.
I understand your fruestration, I've been there.
General Chaos - You provided a much toned down argument this time, and this is what I suggest for you and will pass up.
I suggest that General Chaos be given a go as a race mod for the near future and be judged off that performance. However I do not think that administrators will like that. I remember me having a similar argument with psi over me getting a modship, but I seemed to have turned out well. I think that all potential moderators should be prepared to distance themselves from partisan arguments within forum upon taking the office. Just my opinion. I myself have done so for the most part.
I will leave this topic open for discussion, as I am interested in seeing the responses of the players/mods/admins.
ANYONE can post here, and I ask that it not be locked, even if spammed until I do so myself.
I have full mod powers in this corner, and I will not remove any posts. I feel that there are people with stuff to get out of their system, and this is a good place to do so.

Sometimes some of the mods will try to step on you, or even mod your section. My advice is to fill a sock with marbles and hit them repeatedly until they stop. - Pianomutt2000.urban assault wrote: Bill? Hey, I said I was kidding! Bill, don't push that red button!

Thanks for your reply, i thought this had been completely derailed by clarkey and his stalker, i realise the current admins where selected by the former admin, and his choices where well, i feel made on friendship and not who was good for it, but alas thats not what i was here to discuss,
Per the toned down argument, i only go at it when there is something to fight for and i know the person im arguing against is wrong, and needs brought back down to earth, anyone who judges me from the posts i make in the GC, which i KNOW FOR FACT do, needs to take a rain check on the forums,

In there, its all about the smack talk, and i will talk all the crap of the day in there to annoy the hell out of you, even if i have to repeat the same thing 5 times
Your above suggestion as much as i appreciate it, i would refuse it anyway, i no longer have any interest in becoming a mod around here, those who really wanna be there for the community will do well, but depending on who they are may never get there chance, those who want an ego trip will strive and do great and prob make it to the top.
I was part of the mod team for 1 of the biggest chat sites in the world for over 2 1/2 years, we had over 4million chatters, this community in size doesnt even compare, and even then the ones that did all the work never got anywhere, and the ones that sat doing nothing got the promotions, this is why i left that chat, these forums are just a smaller version of that, so yea i no longer which to be a part of that.
Its not what you do anymore, its who you can suck up to when talking to them.
Anyway, thanks for your time Pianomutt,
Take it easy.
