Prohibition

I am in favour of that because...
...
Just k-i-d-d-i-n-g. :D Of course I'm *against* it.
Causes development of black market, and bad quality alcohol made with no idea what substitute. People will still consume it, and black market will flourish, as will will criminality.
Not to mention alcohol is a very nice thing...when consumed with moderation! :-D (otherwise you will perhaps end in a tree if you drive drunk :( )

Re: Prohibition

I agree with everything you said, and here in the UK it's doubly applicable. A country where almost everybody seems to drink, and alcohol sales are amongst the highest in Europe. It'd turn most 'average joes' into criminals.

Re: Prohibition

Prohibiting it is nearly impossible to police, well, in city areas....

in smaller towns its easier to control.

I believe that "dry" communities are needed. Especially in Australia with the aboriginals.

Alcohol abuse should be minimised at all costs!

Re: Prohibition

If people realised that it tastes like crap, they might not be so insistent on drinking it.

What tastes like crap?
Whisky I would agree that it has no real taste (but still, NOT crap taste)...
However saying Champagne, Port or White Wine taste like crap...riiight!

As for beer it's one too huge topic as you have McDonald beer alike on one side and Heineken/Kronembourg/1664 on the other which are totally alright :p

Alcohol is a euphemism for yeast excrements. It's true.

So?
Food has no any better origin in many cases...Hot dogs, pork-butchery, white pudding, black sausage, etc...

Re: Prohibition

I know, disgusting, ain't it? It's a paradox of life that life must consume life to live. Except plants. They consume life that was consumed for them. (Read: poop)

And bacteria consume sugars, which usually come from lifeforms, but really... everyone should be a bacterium. It would be much more moral that way.

Re: Prohibition

It's like that...not like we eat spiders, intestine of pigs, swallow nests, worms, dogs' penises or scary stuff like that, which are eaten in South America or Asia.
