email change bug

hi my friend had traded a new account, and wanted to change his account to his email. but it says email changed successfully. but when he tries to login it would not allow him. but when he uses old email it works. can any1 tell how to fix this... he does not have forum account if the person himself have to make a complain tell me i will aks him to make a account
