Mobile command platform & defense/up tie in

I was thinking that it would be cool to add a mobile command platform. This Platform could be moved from stat to stat to give an extra percent boost in the given area. The more resources put into it the higher the percent of effect. I was thinking of ways of tying to it into attacking and defending; like the more you use it in a given area the weaker it's influence becomes... There are probably better ways to do that but it should be able to be effected by other player's.

Also I Think it would be a great idea to tie your defense in with your unit production. Having a higher defense could present a boost to your up. This would make war more fun IMO and adds a new dimension to game strategy.

In all the game the game needs more strategic elements in place than it has(the politics I've seen already place with the active community and alliance rivalries have confirmed this for me) ... so even if you don't like my ideas. I would be interested in hearing yours.

I specifically like the one where you say defence and UP are tied in together.

Im curious as how you would tie def/up together

Do you mean you need a higher def or set % to get your Up to work, so then take this server war.. who would grow at all with no def.....

No you still grow, it just might be at par or a rate a few percentage points lower than your normal UP. A good idea. like you mentioned, would be to say that in order for a defense to boost your up it would need to be however much larger than the up.

Have the bonus set up on a balance scale where the bonus is determined by how the size of the up and defense relate to one another.. The And should be capped off at +20% bonus or so.

Basically defenses would promote growth but unit growth would not rely on it.

But say you have no planets of officers,

RAW up gets insanely expensive fast, but someone can tear down a 2-5trill def with little to no effort because the way the game is set, to always favor the attacker.

Admin would have to fix alot of other little things before any idea like this could be set,

Also it would kill raiding completely as most of the raid targets would have 0 def so little growth.

Def and Up are already tied, no def - u get raided if your UP is high enough.

The defense boost would be separate from planet and officer boosts so raiding pretty much wouldn't change at all.
