i myself unlocked threads. now jack is right when he says the misc mods had nothing to do with the deletion of those threads and i highlight 'am not pleased'.
now the issue is being dealt with so i suggest leaving it at that.

Since rolling back the server is not an option, might this not work:
Copy the forum over to a separate, localhost server. Roll-back it there, where it won't hurt anyone, and copy the relevant sql entries. That way the live forum won't be hurt, while it's still possible to recover the important threads.
I don't have a lot of xp with phpbb3 forums, so I might have missed an obvious difficulty?

Other then database access, and co operation from Jason himself, I don't see this happening, but I will attempt it and see if it works.
