he is right though, hitler was a good leader, he did bounds of good in the eyes of his country ammending to the attrocities of the WW1 treaty such as the de-militarised zone and the loss of land to poland ( the strip of land going up to a port of some kind , cant remember its name ) and czechsolvakia. (part of it atleast was german before I think. As well as reuniting Germany with Austria-Hungry or w.e the south of germany prior to WW1 was then called. He just took it one step too far calling a non-existent Alliance bluff which led to Britain and France declaring war, then there was that unfortunate business with the Genicide but up until Poland, he was the best German leader ever. If anything it was those nasty evil Allies who ruined his masterful plan.

Seriously though his first few steps were great and he was an incredible public speaker. I didnt say he was nice just agreed on his ability to lead and lead well.

As for stat building experience, you'd have more than me MR ME builder, besides ive only built about 2-3 defences in my time on sgw which have been bigger than a little one, so stat builder no. Just because your jealous I can build a 4 tril + defence and keep it for a yea. Also this isnt on topic. Topic is about silly people saying that its a war game are wrong,

Agreed 12ag... People choose to play the game as a war game, and try to force that mentality on everyone else who plays and use that excuse to get away with anything they want, assuming since its a "war" game, anythings fine... It is just a game after all though so in the end it doesn't matter. Just because someone doesn't particularly want to just go and mass random alliances to get high ME doesn't make their play style wrong... it means they wanna build stats and get a good account so that when they do have to go to war they can last more than 2 massing/rebuilds and not have to quit out right away. That's my opinion... Sorry if you disagree.

you can have stats yes, and a huge account, ok in theory you can win a war coz you have more resources but i can promise you that if REK, JMX, Tearjerker, Tokko or Easy (yes there are many more but these were the first that came to mind) were at 100m army and you were 300m army and you had a 1m UP when theirs was only 350k that coz they have war experience they would still wipe the with you, no matter how much you were to rebuild, and the point that they also know it is just numbers a pixels and nothing more, which is the best way at looking at the game.


If this were not a war game, why give us defense and attack weapons, soldiers and planets ? why not give us pruners and ribbon so we can cut roses, tie a nice little bow around them and give them to each other ?

So just because I have a gun, means I can go use it and kill someone, mean I can hurt someone, and so on?

I think he meant that even if you have a huge cannon and someone experienced, a great warrior (not saying you are not, TM), has a simple handgun, that those people will still win, since (analogous) you won't be able to fire your cannon quick enough to beat the rapid and accurate draw those people have.

Seriously...because if you justify stargateWARS as the reason to go around having random wars. Then the word before WARS, StarGate, would have to given equal importantance in determining game play, and in stargate, race plays a very important role in who is against who...


Now I know that technically, or officially, this game is not like the show and that is actually called "gatewars" but that is just silly stuff that only came about because of copyright.....but according to the game description at the bottom of the main page on the last line says "Come experience the StarGateWars realm"
-I know there are other slight differences as well like the Tauri Ion cannons...etc...


Notice how StarGate has just as much emphasis as the Wars part? I'm the only that going nuts over this? I would say that the word StarGate coming before Wars means it is more important, but WarsStarGate just isn't the same.....

I think the thread does have some small merit in helping to define playing styles. While some might prefer to be peaceful and traders, or stat builders etc, etc, they are playing a game where aggression is encouraged. These people who are termed 'stat builders' aren't necessarily going to go to war for no reason but that doesn't invalidate their playing style. Then of course there is the other playing style - hit everything and anything that moves. That's a valid style as well.

So for the purpose of defining a bit better different playing styles and highlighting the fact that you do not have to be aggressive for aggressions sake, I think this thread does have merit.

Oh and btw im not saying that war is bad, you should read better. I could care less if one person wishes to destroy another. What I care is people should at least get your facts straight and stop making lame excuses (which pretty much sums up FS half the time.)

As for that silly gun analogy, of course you dont have to use a gun just because you have one, but if you never or rarely use it, you will lose when your faced by an opponent who uses his weapon every day

Hilter was not a great leader in my opinion. I do not consider using mindcontrol techniques a good leader. He did do some bizzare things and IMO is a tool, but is far from being anything diserving of greatness.

I agree that it isnt necessarly a war game, but that its design is very much warlike. People are allowed to play as they wish and I do not see much point to responses such as "its a war game, get over it." those tend to be people who have nothing intelligent to reply with (not saying you are not intelligent, just commenting that your not repling with anything intelligent). But for the most part this thread has very little meaning and wont go far, other then people expressing their opinions. Now you have mine, I dont feel left out

I don't dislike you, You just haven't given me a reason to like you.

Some people could use a gun every day but still turn it side ways and shout out Brap die die die, repitition doesn't lead to knowledge unless done right the first time, so someone who war's a lot isn't going to necessarily be any good at what they practice.
