Good evening London...

If you're looking for the guilty, you need only to look into a mirror. I know why you did it, I know you were afraid...who wouldn't be?
War, terror, disease... There were a myriad of problems displayed to corrupt your reason...and rob you of your common sense, but fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned...
turned to every new update that was suggested, every escape from the difficult ways that once were.

They promised you order...promised you a reprieve from your accounts doom and all these things demanded in return was your silent obedient consent. I once sought to undo these wrongs. The protected planets treaty, the over powering role of ascension and the ingame market...but my attempts were cast down nearly four years ago by some of the very members who stand here now and complain.

Only the players can change the game. Admins should be bowing to their players, not players bowing to admins. The choir of voices that now rise up seek to point out a fault, and they are right.... There is something very wrong with this game.

Never was there a truer word spoken.

People claim just simple massing is fun, but its not. Its horribly repetitive and is completely skill less. No current player has any right to say they are a war master or a good player at all...if anyone out there thinks that their MS, or their farming ability or their ME or even their last mass is a great show of their gaming prowess, then they are a fool. Fun and success or defeat can still be found in dueling, when 2 player agree to meet on-line with no nox and build stats for the fight. Shame most worry about the profit & loss of such actions instead of the sport and enjoyment of it.

You dont have to support it, but I would urge all to check the suggestions and upcoming updates and post you opinions, after all, no point complaining if you dont support of offer way to fix whats wrong

Sport and enjoyment can be gained? I do not find holding two buttons down and quick switching between tabs as sport and enjoyment. Each to their own on that one. I suppose its where people like yourself and I differ with our position on the game in its current state. You still have your niche of fun in the game itself.

I agree online battles are always more worth it, even though myself as a player am still fairly new, if at war I've always made sure to have a defence and trained covert before I attack an enemy.

It's more up to the older players who want the challenge back to get together and say they won't use ppt or nox, they complain that they were bad updates yet use them still, if the bigger alliances start fighting without using the bad updates, maybe the game dynamic will shift again.

Hardly. This is a momentary clitch....here one moment, gone another. Not worth a second thought.


If everyone agrees that the game is going downhill.....or gone downhill, then as Mordack, Semper and everyone else is saying, we need to do something.

Create a thread about what is wrong with the game - general things like "no skill involved", "can't really hurt anyone", "wars are unwinnable".

Then when we have a list of recurring themes, think about what can improve them. IE: If its "no skill involved", then limit the amount of ATs, etc.

Reach some kind of consensus about the general problems with the game....the improvements to be made.....and ensure things get changed. It would be vital that forum admins and mods are involved at every level. And that the new Forum Liason is very visible during the process....and also some personal appearances from the big man himself.....

[Trouble is, this process doesn't really seem to work, as can be witnessed by the current game suggestions area - we'd have to make a lot more noise and commotion than usual to get this stuff implemented]

ok on main. i know no better. i started playing planets were here and people always had bigger accounts with bigger ms' and used them. can I point out loses were alot less when people could just use mercs and have huge attack planets that boasted attack without any link to original strike. Now saying that i agree there is certain things i don't.

Also people have to realise that u can not have a situation where new account take years to catch up to old accounts, games like this live on new blood but i will say that it might be a little to easy to catch up.


On ascended well it needs fixing, untrained planets needs to be kill able but revolution needs to be got rid of or toned down, if so and people need to be descendable, think the time between attempts needs to be halved with current stat of affairs would at least make it more interesting.

6) Make the Co/Officer % fairer to encourage big players to take on small new players as officers
agree at the moment its just not worth it for me to take on any new players

7) Auto vacation mode for accounts inactive over 1 month and auto delete after 6 months vacation
can't delete accounts but as has been said before by people in the know if accounts are put in vac they do not affect lag. on auto vacationing accounts will only hurt small players if there is not strict critea put on it about small army sizes and such. new players need somewhere to be able to farm and raid

8 ) SS only lasting 1 year so you have to repurchase or ascend on a regular basis to support the game

9) Better starting points for new accounts
needs to be done as soon as possible

10) Scrap the need for ascended accounts, logging in to ascended is a chore not a game of choice
this is need as there needs to be some way for people to lose ascended bonus. already a option there for people who have no wise to play ascended, they can either vac and lose half bonuses or become demaen with its drawbacks

11) Reasons for maintaining stats, linking def to resource production, giving new uses for G&R points, etc so people want to build stuff
i agree this would end wars quickly, defending side would after inital strike have nothing to fight back with, its a bad idea unless strict limits on the percentage u would lose was put in place

12) Mineslaves and UU escaping when def is to low to keep them enslaved
very much same as above

is me talking alot of these suggestions would just give a huge unfair advantage to the attacker leaving the alliance who was attacked very little to attack with

It's not totally that complaint threads get more replies, it's that a suggestion saying "Less AT's" and one saying "More costly to attack" are split where all those are being said in one thread here, just move this thread to the suggestions area, and get Freespirit to update all suggestions on a regular basis rather than having 10 seperate topics that get little to no attention

How did this from a discussion go to a topic i'll update and clean up? I have no mod rights here only in the archives or in my race section
Its ok if a clean list with what should be changed (overlooked and discussed by the players) i will happely send it to Jason if not im sure any of my colleges in the mod team will be willing to do the same thing

I think you guys are in a hillarious nostalgia moment and in severe denial.

Allways on about how lack of difficulty is the problem... how game mechanics are to blame. How you cant seriosuly hurt anyone, how it`s no challenge. Thats BS, pure and simple.

What would have happened if you`d have these "challenging" game mechanics for the past 2 years? Or even if you put them in now? The same thing that happened on the now curiously so hated ascended. One group would form/pervail and the rest wouldnt bother cos its one thing to play a challenging game and the other to be a mazohist. And it was a snoozfest back then, for all intents and purposes, be brutally honest there.

The challanging game mechanics ascended exposed the nature of the players full well, and there is no reason whatsoever to expect the same thing would not have happened to main. Everyone and their mother alligned and whacked just the little guys. "Oh the good old days when playing was a challange". Give me a brake. Good old days for you maybe, for the game, highly debatable. Mechanic may have been challenging but the community made damn sure it wasnt, atleast not for the vocal part. Thats why I allways get kicks from guys mastermiding half a k player coalitions and enforcing&enjoying no hit policies cry how the game is now "too easy". Bunch of hypocrites. You know who you are.


Lets be frank here, its not the mechanic its the people. Its this "community". If you can call it this. This is what`s for the most part killing the game. You you you and me.
You`ve got your superiority complex "veterans" making life a hell for newbies. Ingame and on the forums. Big macho old guard. This community is about as opened to newcomers as doors of hospitality to G.W. Just the other day a guy posted here for the first time, admiting his fear of doing so. Everybody joked about it but thats a very clear indication of how this community is.
Then you have your established power&control freaks and your would be saviours (often depending on the POV). Your "gods" and your "rebels". Your annoying "snipers" and your cashcows. etc. etc. 1/4 of the community ignores eacother based on tags alone. What active folks you have are more ofthen than not people that should seek professional help about their obsessing with this game.



It really is that simple.

People have grown old here. They`ve grown saturated of eachother. They`ve gotten history. More often than not bad history. Things got personal. Not a game but an excercise in stubborness. In obsessivnes or in falling to apathy, anything short of "not winning" the unwinable. In "sticking it up to some".

I`ve said these before. We old feckers need to clear off. Few are here cos the game is still fun for them and most we do is just perpetuate old grudges few still know what they`re really aqbout and transfer them to new people via tags and "politics".

Best thing admin could do for this *game* is to suspend these forums indefinatly and/or ban all the older IDs lol. That`s, if you really want the game to be something it once was.

It hasn`t changed for the worse, you(we) have. We just have to admit it to ourselves.

I know im not one to normay post bout this sort of thing and im not new blood having played for over 2 years, not as long as most of you i know....
but i thing i notice s that its always the same poeple in here or ruling ingame in the super alliances and coalitions....most smaller players wont post in here for fear of being made fun of r being massed for what they say ot belive as they havent been around as much as you lot have and dont know it all

I tend not to get nvolved as much in the game until recently again but for my entire playing history ive spent a lot of time talking to smaller players...those more likely to play for a short time and quit

a lot of the dont understand ascended server....many even find it a pain to play...2 games to play one?

Someone suggested or made as if to suggest scraping ascended server...and i agree......no one plays....and it almost negates ingame ascensions and makes them seem worthless.....u can acensed to prior and e stupidly strong due to ascended server....or spend all that time and effort getting to AG and be weak if you dont play ascended server.......ascneded server hardly makes ascensions in main seem worth it.like going up in levels

thats just a point of view ive heard over time from others....uneducated masses compared to you guys and sgw know how..many who have now quit...they found the game(S) over complicated in the fact theyre linked or they got tire of being bullied by super alliances and coalitions who almost are like clicks we had in schools where popularity ruled

Yes and no. What ruined the game is seen by different points yes. But you cant seriously hurt anyone anymore. U being in the server war should definatly see that. No stat is untouchable and easy to mass. Yes sometimes its to easy to mass. The game evolved. Army's got bigger incomes got boosted yet the prices of the rest stay the same. This created more cashflow (naq wise) for the bigger players to fund easy massings (they were more costly before) or boost lower members (nothing wrong with that as its teamwork)

Hmm that is your POV though. I myself always were one of the little guys and never focussed on growth like most of the big dogs did. Yet even i saw morre fun in massing big dogs back then then i do now. There is simply no effort needed. Just a good stock of at and 1-2 tril repair naq (depending on ur account setup)

some one mentioned an idea not sure how about ppl with 0 or small ish def losing miners / lifers per turn.. i think that would be a good idea.. maybe encourage people to have defenses and stop those annoyin people who declare war an what not cos they no they cant be hurt with there bare account
