2. is this here only for nostalgia, or will the same updates that happened on the original happen here too in time? (meaning in 5 years from now origins will be a clone of what sgw is today?)

Where it would actually cost something to mass, where people would think twice before massing others, where war cost something, and where people will actually win and loose wars because others cannot grow during it!

It will probably be updated/fixed, I doubt new aspects of the game will ever be introduced. New aspects being things along the lines of Ascension, Planets, etc. It will just be this mega version of rock, paper, scissors.

Aside from general enhancements in the gameplay, no major changes from oldschool SGW are to take place around launch.
Where the game goes after that depends on AdminGary and the playerbase (for as far as AG gives them a say in the matter).

yes, no raid, no MS, planets, broker market and bs that comes with it... although alliances simular to main would be nice.
low ability to produce turns will hinder hardcore mass sprees, make def more of a virtue, make people relly on income more...
