Time Frame on updates/features?

Questions for Gary:

Game has been launched which is great, i see we currently have the 2 cheapest weapons available and no option to upgrade. What is the time frame for adding in the ability to buy better weapons? I'm sure many will want to know this as they, like me, plan to use the best weapons ASAP.

I missed the last few hrs of Beta, did you add in a way to kill spies in the end? if not then everyone is just eventually going to be sitting around with a ton of spies trained up knowing they are a:Unkillable and b: can be used to kill enemy assassins rendering the assassin rank/score kinda redundant.

For the short term the above are not a major issue, but the longer the game goes without either then the more pointless it will become. Lotta people expected Origins to have ways to kill all troop types, maybe they were just suffering from wishful thinking, but it's an important game-play issue and should be clarified.

The recruit link does not seem to be up and running either , when you click it it needs an image to be enter code and there is no code above the box.

Re: Time Frame on updates/features?

There was a way developed, called "Assassination".

However I feel that the results for it, were mildly minimal...

eg.

No hard feelings mate, but I had to test my 1mil covert on somone...

Results: With extreme stealth your Undercover Agents approach the enemy realm.
Your Undercover Agents report to you they killed 25 Assassin.
Of your 2370 Undercover Agents sent into battle 2358 returned to provide you with this information.

With extreme stealth your Undercover Agents approach the enemy realm.
Your Undercover Agents report to you they killed 24 Assassin.
Of your 2358 Undercover Agents sent into battle 2347 returned to provide you with this information.

With extreme stealth your Undercover Agents approach the enemy realm.
Your Undercover Agents report to you they killed 23 Assassin.
Of your 2347 Undercover Agents sent into battle 2336 returned to provide you with this information.

With extreme stealth your Undercover Agents approach the enemy realm.
Your Undercover Agents report to you they killed 21 Assassin.
Of your 2336 Undercover Agents sent into battle 2326 returned to provide you with this information.

This may be useful, but the amount actually killed, may be short a few.

Yes i know assassination works to kill enemy assassins, my point was directed at killing spies. As it stands then it is easy enough to sit with all your army as spies and be unkillable, even worse is you can assassinate anyone's assassins at no cost of turns because this attack method uses spies/covert power to destroy enemy assassins.

There are limits in place on using spies, look for 'Covert Capacity' in the command center.

Sorry mate, I read your previous post incorrectly.

The only thing I can think of is that the assassins need to have an attack of their own...

Strike v Defence - normal attack
Spies v Weapons - sabbing
Spies v Assassins - Assassinate
Assassins v spies - ??? Maybe something like Counter Subterfuge...

Someone can still log in once every 6 hrs or so and savagely assassinate a chosen enemy and there is currently precisely zero they can do to stop it happening except to untrain all assassins...leaving them open to savage sabbing...although if nothing has changed from last night then sabbing may well not be costing them ANY spies regardless of assassin rank/score.

I should mention, the fewer spies/spykillers you have the harder it is for them to be killed. You need to have atleast 20 units before you can loose any.

Yup, it's why for the short term it doesn't matter, but later on it will just prevent people making assassins and force all to train tons of spies.

Ask yourself the simplest of questions: What will players train up the most, killable units or unkillable ones? What drawbacks are there to training up my entire army into spies? I lose income that would probably be farmed anyway, i gain having most of the game being unable to see my naq or army size, i can spy, sab and assassinate anyone i want. No drawbacks at all except less income which in many cases is actually a good thing as there is less requirement to log in to avoid being farmed.

AG, you have got to start thinking like an exploiter mate. We are easily showing you the faults in this, as we have for other things. Take some time and think things through mate.
