Why should i play on my ascended account ?

Yep. If someone assaults you directly on ascended, they can descend you. That will take your ascended bonusses away for a few weeks (I think its two). In order to assault you, they need 10x as much attack as you've got defence. Then they need to take out all your Life Force (LF) reserves, and all your Life Force. The max allowed LF they can do in one hit is one third of your reserves. So normally you'll have a few hours warning before being descended.

With the current setup of descensions, I don't think they motivates anyone to log in more than maybe once a day, for 10s to check the logs.

If you don't log in sometimes, you might get descended, which wouldn't be fun.

oh and one more thing...
[spoiler]noone will bother decending you if you do two simple things.

1. change your ascended name to somthing that you will not be recognized as.
2. if you have been playing ... untrain all your planets and sell all your wepons... that way you will get no DMU and your rank will be high, so that way you will not get attackled

if you do that... you shouldnt get attacked for anything and you wont probably be decended cause noone knows who you are. [/spoiler]

Name change won't work - most major alliance keeps lists of main ID vs ascended ID. Those who don't knows someone who do.

Untraining is a valid strategy, but won't keep you safe from descension if you don't log in, if someone actually tries to descend you, that is.
