Yes but most people say just fight back, mass them back instead of throwing crap on the forums, but the problem is in situations like this they may not have the opportunity to fight/mass back because they may have lost a whole chunk of their army in the unexpected massing. So they don't have the resources to even fight back after that then all they have left is to rant about it.

True, but sometimes you just have strike back, in everyones eyes, you'll earn more respect that way and its better than complaining about it, if someone needs to gain those chunks back, theres plenty of inactives willing to donate the UU's and naq to do it.

People say and do things that make situations worse when they are heated, but let them calm down and rebuild and they may fight back and actually make some friends around here, but hows that gonna happen when everyone else wants to jump on the bandwagon and mass him all because he went on a little rant.

Its the way of life, people do say things which may or may not make situations better, and sometimes the intended effect never comes. Things are always said which make things worse, but its how they're interpreted that makes it worse.

I find the fact the very people making this forum unpleasant for newcomers now say "you should get involved with the community more" humorous, to put it mildly heh. Funny bunch.
I mean, it`s not as if newcommers get their behinds served to them to general amusement of the old guard every once and a while so they pritty much have a reason to keep their heads as low as they`ll go and that that is very common knowledge, is it eh heh? Riiiight...

You may never have massed a newb but you prolly loled with your empire mates & co. enough times, or simply looked away as 99% of the community, when everyone was loling. Doesnt really matter for the guy now does it, your trac record.
Simple fact is this place is newcomer unfriendly for the vast majority of time. And when one who "got served" ingame lets out his steam here for the first time and gets served back the spin of the situation that it was somehow "his fault" (for not being mazohist enough to make himself known here?)...
I call that cynicism with little competition for the top spot in its category around here.

Dispense some of those pearly whites when it counts. And honestly, it wasnt aimed so much at you as to the perpetual "sing-along brigade" that lols at them one day, applauds profounds thoughts about how people should integrate more into the community and will lol at a newb for sticking his head out of his shell 2morrow. Look, its just a part of life, people get harrassed or made fun of, you just have to learn to deal with it and move on, keep your head high. Its not that big a deal if you don't let it become a big deal, you just have to learn to live with it.

Whenever someone whines, there's bound to be people ready to pick on him, sure its mean, sure its unfair, but honestly, theres no point in whining about something. Whining doesn't solve problems, talking about them may make you feel better about them, but in the long run, action speaks louder than words. If the guy doesn't want people picking on him, two solutions, don't whine, or snap back, don't roll over and die, otherwise you'll face a lifetime of people just walking all over you and next thing you know, you become the next postal worker to go nuts and kill a bunch of people. Its mean, but its tough love.

Honestly, this is possibly the best and most mature post I have read in this forum in the last oh 2 years? Yeah that sounds right.
So people get fed up at constant harassing, they get angry, and then rant. Okay, seems fair and an everyday part of life. Then people insult them and offer up all of these "magical words of wisdom" that really are 25 people's opinions at best out of oh a game of 600 people? Now, I am not a stats major but even at a glance, that is still a pretty low number of people. See, when I don't have anything left to do on SGW, I get up from my computer (or at least close the browser) and do some homework, or on occassion, read a book, maybe stroll the campus, listen to some music, even play another game. Or if it's a weekend, why not get some drink! Or hang with friends! or BOTH!!!! Yes, there are a mighty number of other things besides boredom massings.
It seems that the most respected people in this game (not the oldest) are the ones that actually don't play it that much

Imma pull a suzuk here and go on record I never "lold". I have infact allways posted against, when I`ve posted. Plus, since you`re so well informed, you no doubt know TDL was created in no small part due to internal "conceptual differences" over such practices. When standards of non-jerkish behaveour some wished were to constricting for some. And I and my big mouth (as per usual) had quite a bit to say about it then - to my alliance and empire mates. And when it became apparant approaches were a tad to different I came up with TDL (light-dark division) personally. Cos of this/that. Yea, call me mr. Frankenstein.

Yes, Idiots starting Forum Wars that many game players know nothing about.

Before all of you Forum **Filtered** and Drama Kings and Queens start some of these stupid wars, you should consider that not everyone that plays the games reads this crap in the forums. So perhaps before setting up Server wars or Race wars that might involve all players in the game, you should be considerate enough to mail those players you plan on involving in these silly wars to find out if they wish to participate. Or better yet, set up a page in the forum for those that actually wish to participate to sign up and leave everyone else out of it. Although I’m pretty sure as with the server war, most are too brain dead to keep up with who is and is not involved.

Planning a war and posting the crap in the forums where not everyone reads them, does not make it fair to everyone in the game. Although it is a really good way to cause more people to quit playing. There is no message board in the game where everyone can see it when they login to be informed when the so called “Elite” plan these stupid wars. Myself and many others have named planets “Not in War” to let the FUALL bullies know that we’re not a part of the server war, and I have also left uninvolved alliances as a preventive measure from all of the drama jerks doing teaser hits and underhanded tactics to drag more alliances in that war even though they wish not to be involved. Seems to me these warsmongers do more for running players away from the game than preventing elitist boredom.

The elite complain that there aren’t enough aggressive players in the game yet before anyone has a change to grow strong enough to be competitive, you want to destroy the small guys accounts when you know damn well they can’t rebuild or recover as fast as those of you with massive planets, Income and UP that produces more in 1 turn that most of the players can steal in a week or have big alliances to supply your resources.

I guess the FUALL and the forum staff bullies (most being one in the same) aren’t content with all the players you keep running off with the server war because you all are so big and get bored of playing, so now you have to come up with more stupid forum wars (that most players know nothing about) and destroy peoples accounts and run off more players.

I will probably be leaving the game as will many of my friends that are also fed up with the stupidity of forum wars. As stated above, you guys complain about being bored because there are no players of your caliber to keep things interesting, but as long as your FUALL bully friends keep **Filtered** off the new and small players, there will never be anymore players of your caliber. Pretty soon you can ask the owner to rename the game THE FUALL EMPIRE because that’s all that is going to be left.

There are over 104,152 registered players in the game. Most already quit w/o deleting their account but even still, there are less than 9000 registered members on the forum. From what I understand many of them are multis since there isn’t any restrictions on forum accounts and many people like to cause more drama w/o anyone knowing who they are. I’m sure some of you can look up the last time I was on here and posted something. Most of the time I get a headache just reading the drama crap on here, so the only time I really come here is when there is a problem with the game or another worthless update gets posted that only seems to help the elite but don’t do **Filtered** for the small players.

Wow almost a year ago they had 259 people in the forums at one time. The game has around 800 at times so it should be pretty damn obvious that not everyone comes to the forums and as mentioned, since there isn’t any kind of in game message board that everyone can see when they login, I think all of you warmongers should be a little more considerate to other players and stop the stupid server and forum war crap. Or you can keep the crap up and as stated above rename the game FUALL EMPIRE and the rest of us will find something else to do with our time.

Other games like Chaos and Quantum reset every few months and change things to keep them interesting, So why don’t you go play that warlord crap on those servers and work on helping new players here and help build a better player base. I’m sure the owner would much rather keep as many players as sign up for the chance to generate more revenue so he can provide everyone with a better server that doesn’t lag or to pay coders to assist with upgrades and add-ons for the game. Keep in mind, no players, no revenue, no revenue no game. So do the math and keep on running players like me off. Then you can be bored looking for something else to spend your time on or go wreck somebody else's game.

For one of the first threads I haven't been an active participant in, I can honestly say I read every single word here.

I see Spammers, I see ignoramuses, I see sensible posters, but most importantly I saw someone who spoke their mind.

Basic is right, if you are on the forums and you don't read everything on here, then the forum is too big.. It was too big 3 and a half years ago when I joined SGW, I didn't register for 7 months.. And I had been the top poster on several forums for years.. When people had hit the 1k mark I had 2k posts etc..

Anyway I see two solutions

Make an in game announcement or news reel type thing that alerts users to the latest news ingame, this would be filled by editors that would alert players of what they need to know.

or

Delete every single poster and post off the forums and go back to basics.. No sigs, no avatars.

The fact of the matter is the better you are at these games the more you don't have a life. I am sure as hell not going to let SGW consume my life again, although I can see it starting to.. I need to get a hobby.. Time to take up every nerds nightmare, physical activity sport....

But yeah.. Seriously nice post basic, I don't give a toss who FUALL or TFF ttf tof fee are.. They are all full of themselves if you ask me. It's only the ones on the forums who actually give a **Filtered** about the server war!

I must agree that the general feel of this forum is not a pleasant one. Everyone just 'roleplays' here and there is a lot of hostility. The only decent way to talk to ppl is via msn because on this forum it's all about how 'evil' you can be.
Other then that, i had no idea about the asgard/ancient war stuff and i do visit this forum now and then to read some stuff.
You might say that you can find friends in here but I doubt it since new posters are either ignored or 'verbally' attacked(be it roleplay or not, new forum users are mostly intimidated by it). In some cases ppl may find a good start in here but that would be either because they are already known, because they know 'important' people or because they have something unique about them (which is usually the skill of roleplay trough attacking others)

my opinion
