rank modifier!!!

I think the rank modifier need some improvements

If I attack someone close to me in quantum(i'm in the top 10 list), I get less money that when I attack someone far from me plus it cost me more to repair my weapons than if I attack someone far from me. It doesn't make any sense.

I attack someone which is 100 rank below me in quantum that has 1,8M naquadah only to get 600k plus it cost me 250K to repair my weapons

BUT

If I attack someone in the rank 200 with more than 1 million, I take 800k and it cost me only 20k to repair my weapons.

350k vs 780k which one is the best

Which brings me to prefer to attack really lower ranks compare to someone close to me. Not good for a rank modifier!!

ALSO

the rank modifier would be good if everyone would have a balance rank in all 3 factors(Attack, defensive and covert)

One thing that I notice since the beginning of the game is more and more ppl get specialized in only one thing. Ppl with incredible defense but no attack, and vice versa, Incredible attack but no defense.

The last one finds it funny to attack higher but doesn't get on the top cause they are keeping the other 2 factor low which keep there rank low so the rank modifier comes to null here.

Please tell me if that rank modifier can be changed or removed??

and how damage to weapons is counted ?

exact same problem I have. there should be something that guarantees atleast 60% in a successful attack or it's no point attacking. I attack sometimes, get 600 k and repairs cost 300 k. lol

Heh I guess you are refering to me here. This is how I am playing the game, its just tactics. You are equally able to specialise and lower your rank if you want, but there are consequences to it, so I dont see what is wrong with it. There is an easy way to prevent it but it involves completely changeing the ranking system, so i wont suggest it :P

WEll you see, thats my whole point of this topic, not well explain maybe , I apologize.

Don't get me wrong it is an excellent tactics to lower your rank that way, much easier for yourself. but that was not like that before at the beginning of this game.

The rank factor was implemented to protect new comers from being attack by higher ranks, not to protect people who, like you say , artificially lower there rank. Which isn ow changing the whole purpose of that rank modifier, but that's my opinion.

I think the new update that Forum has dropped some info on, will encourage more people to try to be in the top 10 as there will be a bonus for doing so...

Well that would certainly incentivise me to attempt to get into the top 10, although it would have to be worth the cut in my rank modifiers :D
I would like to point out that this probably wont help most people though, I happen to know my brother is playing similar tactics to me on the regular server and he would never make it into the top 10...so this will only affect very few. One more way it could be seen as a bad idea is that anything that only helps the top ten is helping the strong, but ignoring weak, which can be seen as unfair. Just my thoughts

Ahh yes I remember that thread now, but I doubt that that idea will be coming to quantum (I dont play the regular server) as it resets every 3 months anyway. I personally never though ascension was a good idea anyway...but I do like the other 2 :)

of course thats how it should be. Thats not what I am complaining about here.
what I am complaining about is tauri or asgard who only concentrate on the bonus skills will not be high rank compare to someone who balance the 3 skills, which in turn creates a more disadvantage to these players by that rank modifier thing or whatever you want to call it.

which makes it harder to get to #1 :)
it is the point.... short term strategy might help you to gain long term winning.... any and all of the 3 - specialized - will give certain advantages :)
only the 3, in balance, will get you to the top...

it is on purpose :D

So Forum, if I understand your point is to get the top 10, you have to forget all the benefice that you have when you are not at the top, lilke that $@#%^#$%^#$ rank modifier???

wen u are rank 1 u will get the least amoun of naq from your attacks,u will get the bigest hit on your attack/defence by the rank modifier
so u are actualy disadvanteged by the game if u are rank 1
this way nowan can stay there if they havent preperd for it frue hard play....:P

well if you want my opinion I think it sucks BUT... on the other hands it helps other ppl to get up so I guess the wholepurpose of this game will be play in its last hours to see who will then run for the top 10 lol
