clarkey, spare yourself the trouble, i have argued about that for hours and hours on that issue. acording to robe the rules of an election cannot be changed after the election. in this she is kacked by the other admins. if the rules are changed there would need to be a revote. but yes those votes do concern me to. it's not only been done in ombudsman voting but in racemod voting to.

the only thing that can be done to 'make me win' this election is:

get all votes who were made after the deadline voided. and get some of my voided votes unvoided (some were voided for a reason that is debateable)

but honestly i have putted in so much energy into this election over the last week that i'm exausted. i have placed my last effort in the hands of the 3 admins and baszy. their judgement is ginal.

tetris, what you are displaying here is imaturity, jalousy and inabilety to controle your own emotions. i honestly believe i can do the ombudsman job in a good and honourable way. why ? cuz i asked some of my closer ingame friends if i was capable of doing it before i even putted myself up as a canidate. and about me thinking i'm so much better then manetheren ? i honestly believe either one of us will do a good job cuz manetheren is a nice and good guy. my only concern with manetheren is his abilety to make time for the forum since he has a fulltime job and a wife and children. but that is manetherens concern and if he believed he had no time to actualy do the job he woudn't have run for it.

furthermore we all know that EVERY election is a popularity contest, if a canidate doesn't go out to convince ppl he is the best one for the job he will not get votes. and before you make any comments about alot of dead acounts rising from the dead to vote for me, then look at all my votes. yes there are some who have risen from the dead but those players are friends i have known for over 2 years now. and my other votes are made by actual forum users.

now ask yourself the question:
if you have never talked to someone how can you say that they are incapable of doing the job of ombudsman?

By definition the Ombudsman is a position appointed by the powers that be for the benefit of the powers, and the people. The forum administration should have, from the word go...decided who was going to be Ombudsman. I said it to robe before the thing was announced and I say it now.. letting the community vote in an Ombudsman was a bad idea, perhaps let them nominate is the way to go...but the decision should always be left with the admins.

See this is where i find that ur logic flaws Semper. The admins should never decide who the ombudsman is as they are players of the game to and therefor people will always state bias when they smell it. Its always been that way and that will never change. Now someone will probly come with the argument of keeping ingame and forums seperate but we all know that in the last months/years noone seperates ingame from forums anymore.

@ semper: everyone has a right to run for ombudsman regardless of ingame faction. your just upset because you lost to FUALL and TTF players. the ombudsman position is not about your alliance or what happens ingame. it's about making the forum a fair place to all. manetheren got elected and won the election by the rules. there is no question about that. the rules wich were aplyed can be debated.

and also. the ombudsman should be able to remain neutral. if the admins descide who it will be they will pick someone they can controle no mather what. and the ombudsman would feel like he is in debt towards the forum admins.

@ freespirit: your right if admins were to pick the ombudsmen then it would become biased all around just on the position that should be completely biased free




like i said before manetheren won this election by the rules, the rules for the voting can be debated about wheter or not the system aplyed was good. but that's it. i choose to be manetherens understudy to help him in difficult cases and to help the forum become a better place. yes i do not fully like the followed procedure but that is out of my hands and does not deminish the validness of the outcome.

pft Like I am upset. Relieved is a better sentiment. I knew from day one I was never going to win it, before I wrote my name and that ego centric post in the thread. In fact lol, I brought this objection up to Robe before the general public even knew the elections were starting, I helped decide the bloody rules and processes myself... The next statement about the Ombudsman being neutral...once again, how it SHOULD BE, not how it WILL be. You do not give the admins enough credit to begin on a different note, and who on earth would feel in debt to them? We're not all anal retentive wimps Zeek.

Look, I have been part of this community for four years and year after year after year... it has shown me, time after time after time after time... that it is incapable of putting ingame squabbles aside to make community decisions. NO ONE is capable of doing it. Yes, it SHOULD not be that way.. but it IS that way.

As for people saying the mods and admins choosing was a bad idea.. erm. Who chose the last two Ombudsmen.. if memory serves the community elected them, the top 3 were then discussed and chosen by the forum administration. Aside from Eros, they went a lot more smoother now didn't they?

Some1 can have a forum account and not regularly post and STILL can use the forum and be an effective community member. Alot of people can't be arsed into posting on here, because they will typically be flamed. That is why the distiction about post count should never be applied. As pointed out by myself earlier. It is a crude measure but the only one there is. After all to be an effective member of the community one has to communicate with the community, publically. So yes, post count does have something to do with it all.
