I ascended well over a year ago(started playing main in august of '05), but then I went on extended hiatus from the game overall and only logged in to ascension a few times, so I've only been "active" for a couple of months when you add it all up.
I usually keep my turns holed up due to the slower regen than in main, so I can use them for combat, though I am taking previous advice into consideration and plan to farm for dmu.
As for a model, I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but lets put it this way:
I ascended one time, and one time only...this is not due to lack of capacity so much as the desire to see how far I can go on the minimum amount of resources/advantages.
Typically I play a "soldier" role fairly well, before the fall of the SLA I had one of the highest UPs in the alliance and used it to power a very fast recovery rate as well as my pre-ascension rank 50ish mothership(+/- a few ranks depending on the day). In ascended I have generally the same idea, though I intend to focus on a heavy Ascended being.
That is, of course, assuming I do not again find myself losing interest and wandering.
