This game is becoming too independant on covert for power.
So I have an idea.
If maybe we could lower covert's power. So in effect you would get the same result from spending naq on attack and defense, to spending it on covert.
Ya will say oo I dont care and stuff like that. But i dont expect half the people who moan at me will even have a high covert to know what I mean.

My Covert isn't anything special really - ranked about 145. However it really does help keep attackers off my back. I've never really bothered sabbing anyone except a few friends from school so I cannot comment on that.
However, Covert cost becomes extreme when you reach the higher levels, so why should you not see the benefits from that investment? Furthermore, if someone is willing to fork out the 90,596,966,400 Naq for Spy Level 24 (Replicator cost) AND train up 250,000 Spies then they really do deserve to be pretty much invulnerable to Sabotage and able to Sabotage any player they choose (within reason). Just as players like Daff deserve to be almost impossible to attack for all the cash they have poured into a sicko defence.

As I thought you failed too see my point. If they did fork it all into it. It would stilll be a super covert. As everyone elses would be lowered aswell.

Yeah, I do think it should be changed somewhat. It is too biased towards covert. All the money I've spent on covert I've got it to more than 5 trillion. However, had I of spent the same money on defence I'd probably have around 50 billion defence action. So yeah, it is unbalanced and I suppose it should be changed.

lol why does know one like replicators, the only thing this is going to do is make replicators useless,
i mean sure the power is much higher but so what its not liek that means anything its just a friking number, so what it most of your total power comes from covert, total power is only how alliances are ranked, maybe you should be suggesting a change in the way alliances are ranked (even though theres nothign wrong with it) not lowering the total power, WTH why would you want to do that .

Who said anything about alliances?
And alliances are basically ranked on covert power, thats wrong it should be total power, yet an alliances attack and defense no longer plays a part in alliance rankings compared to the covert power.
Which would be fixed by this idea also.
If you had read and understood, you'd also know this doesn't take away the replicator's bonus. If you also looked, you'd know alot of people were complaining about it anyway.

I am quite pleased at the way the covert ratio was changed on Q......makes it more balanced......would be nice if they changed the same ratio over to main.......I am sure people whould whine and complain but keeping peoples covert power in the millions and low billions instead of high billions, trillions, or higher......

I understood your point perfectly well.
So here's a question - if you are going to reduce the power of Covert, will you reduce the costs involved in getting Covert to compensate for this?
By reducing the overall strength of Covert, even though everyone else's Covert will have been brought down too (to "balance" it out) do you propose that the physical effects of Covert (sabotage for instance) stay at the value they would be with the reduced numbers? If not, then really what is the point in this suggestion of yours? And if yes then you're cheating a vast number of players out of the power they thought they were buying with high Coverts.

Reducing the power of covert is not the answer. I believe that the answer is to nullify the untouchability of covert, but in such a way that it is fair to all concerned. Being able to simply destroy someone's covert overnight is not fair - but I do believe that being able to attack covert is something that is needed - i.e. being able to kill spies.
I also think that spies should undergo some virtual training - i.e. so that when you train some spies up, they do not start at wahtever your spy level is immediately. The choice would be that they would start at Level 1 and would, over time, attain the spy level you are at. Alternatively, they could start at a certain level below the spy level of teh player.
A third option would be that when you train your spies - a different cost is imposed dependent on which spy level (up to your level) you want to train them - then they increase level with time/experience.
Now this could be tied in with the fact that spies are lost on sabotage missions - the most inexperienced (hence lower level spies) are killed first.
The same can be said if the ability to kill spies is introduced. The less experienced, lower level spies, would be killed first, but as they are killed off, the more experienced spies take more effort and are harder to kill.
This would make it hard, but not impossible to effectively reduce somebody's covert. Attacks of this nature could have a limit as to the amount carried out against a player - as the existing covert abilities do now.
Another idea may be to have a new type of sabotage mission, aimed at destroying training facilities, which could reduce a players Spy Level - but personally I like my spy killing idea better.

I really like that idea Wolf. I especially like the idea that spies could cost more depending on the level. Once you have a decent UP, spies become so easy to make. 3500 Naq a pop versus 91,000 Naq to train an attacker or defender into a super unit (baring race factors) and then another 216,000 Naq or 590,000 Naq per weapon if you're ascended. The cost of spies makes it very appealing to focus on covert. Scaling that somehow would make the pursuit of spies a lot less easy in comparison to the rest of your army.

How much more detailed do you want it? - it seems quite self-explanatory to me!
