Of course it all began when M (Wolf359) and I became friends. He had joined Omega in quantum first wave and we used to talk regularly. Unlike some other groups in this game, we don't make alliances of convenience. I used to liase with the EPA HC at the time alot, had full access to all their forums and so on. Together we had some great wars with the Systems Lords Alliance and when Jarihn bought Iron's account (at that time the only account as powerful as mine), created his alliance and planned to go to war with the EPA, I stepped in and stopped that threat.
So as things go, after many months, DD joined us as part of the Grand Alliance..and then eventually DDE. During this time the EPA had grown into EPAC. Basically a huge amount of players! During a collective decision, it was decided that each alliance could only have 120 members each. Due to this Omega had to withdraw it's invitation to the AK and FAHQ in joining the OE as our numbers would have surpassed the 120 limit. The EPA were offered the same deal but refused to cut it's members. So a vote was taken by the 3 alliance leaders, Virgil, REK and myself. They voted to remove the EPA and I voted to keep them, majority decision standing. And so CoP was born!
Now suddenly, out of nowhere, EPAC members were talking about Omega being responsible for their ouster and how war was inevitable. Having access to their forums, I read the badmouthing which continued for a bit. Even though my own HC access was removed, I had, through a slice of luck the login details of one of the former HC of EPA. In the guy's defence, I must add he was not a traitor. I once had problems logging in and needed to read up on something and he volunteered his login (this was when we were allies). I can't recall the guy's name but it's beside the point. So one day reading up on their forums HC section and I come across an attack order from JaseB to attack Omega at a specific time. On discovering this, I showed this to the OHC and used my veto to declare war on the EPAC. And so the Omega/EPA war took place. They were defeated and then Acronon had a fit and gave their leader access to our entire forum. Surprise Suprise, he found that not only Omega weren't planning a war with the EPA, but had never intended to go to war with our old allies.
Since then the great motto that their founder set up has fallen by the wayside. They ally with anyone who suits their purposes, while claiming their supposed allies don't tarnish their own image. When leading members of their alliance insult other alliances not at war with them, their leadership doesn't have the balls to make the person apologise. The TF of course are so desperate for allies they'll accept JMB's (whatever his name is) insults. But then when all you are left with is Elusive 2 and his buddies doing most of the fighting, you can't complain where you get your allies.
And finally a message to the EPA leadership. You lot dishonour the legacy of Wolf and so I do not recognise you as the allies we once shared so much with. If Wolf were still around, we all know that he would never have allowed fools to dictate his alliance's policy and go to war with Omega. And most definitely he knew us well enough to know that war was never inevitable as long as there was honour.
While being largely accurate there are flaws.....
While true that Jase and EPA command at the time may have over-reacted to what happened with the GA instead of you pre-empting our attack you could have attempted to talk to us..... out of respect..... go to war was your solution to that problem though.
Had that conflict not happened the history of SGW would have been very different of that I am sure.
As for allies tarnishing who we are as an alliance I would be looking at your own allies before making brash statements about ours.
And finally...... as for taking allies of convenience.... the only allies EPA have had since inception has been...
1. EPAC (TSA, 359, The Hive, SPM, WoB and BWP)
2. The GA (Omega, DDE, DD)
3. CIA (Too many to mention but TLE, The Foundation, TA... etc etc)
and now TTF which are basically the same as those in CIA.
The only allies of convenience are those in CIA and TTF as that is at the heart of those organisations.... independent alliances coming together to fight a common enemy.
While we will never be the same as we once were, that is always going to be the case with Wolf359 in command or otherwise. Everything changes.
