Tab Farming or Whatever it's Called

I dont get the tab + enter mothed though, doesnt work for me, i press tab it just goes off the long line of linked buttons on the right like homepage/Q legends etc etc...

Ben meant tab not as tabulator button on your keyboard but as tab window in your browser..

Ctrl + Tab Changes to next tab, click makes sure the tab is clicked, the 2nd tab tabs the attack button, enter instantly attacks.

If you get your fingers in right spot and can type fast you can do every hit in, .5 seconds. My browser only supports 150 tabs though so I guess thats my limit.

I like Opera more (although firefox doesn't work for some unknown reason on my comp anywayz), you don't need ctrl + tab to change tab, you've got shortcuts on your numpad which is quicker..

opera is the best. all you need is open all your targets, hit attack button, enter 12 at, then press 1 or 2 (1 previous tab, 2 next tab) and enter. you can have as much tabs as you like.

Well, I'm so happy that this posting has served it's purpose. Not only has it brought tab-farming out of the shadows, it's even gotten some of the most accomplished tab-farmers to share some of their secrets, effectively leveling the playing field for those unfamiliar, assuming they are dedicated enough to investigate and learn.

Once again, the responses ran the gamut, but it's good to see s1eepy take it to that logical conclusion. It doesn't have to be ugly, it's a game afterall. Why not compete on this new level with a pair of categories: most hits in a minute (tabbing not with macros) and highest average hit with minimum # of hits/minute.

Then there's the last point that I would like to make. We've seen in Origins how a game can die a fast death due to apathy in the presence of a ruthless 'elite.' But tab farming in Q is not an immutable advantage as some have been sure to point out. I will elaborate.

One tab-farming challenge is that it does indeed take some time to set up, as well as requiring dexterity to work effectively. And a vulnerability is the potential for wasting ATs, which can happen for multiple reasons. Ineffectiveness, as I've mentioned, or the equalizer, as I call it, is another.

For those experienced players who would rub their expertise in your newbie face, you can always play a little trick -just- before the turn, as I did for this not too bright guy who insisted on turn farming me, despite being a member of my alliance and being asked to stop.

Real funny thing about the 144 wasted ATs listed below, is that was the second turn in a row you fell for the same trick. Back-to-back turns of wasted ATs. Yeah, you're waaaaay smarter and more experienced than me, a silly newbie. But I do know how to sab your attack away just before the turn, so that when you start furiously pressing those buttons, you won't have time to notice that all you're doing is wasting ATs. But hey, maybe I just don't know who I'm dealing with.

And I will acknowledge that Akhal, whom some think I have a personal vendetta against, is FAR more efficient at the use of multiple windows than I am. He is extremely skilled. The idea that I don't like him is ridiculous, since I don't even know him. I do dislike his behavior and relentless desire to achieve advantages over the newer players and even his alliance mates.

That's what I think distinguishes Kikaz from Akhal. Kikaz tutored me early on, and some posts here show this quality of his. It's just a shame that he can't separate the game from his friendships. Good friends would appreciate you giving them your best, so long as you played honorably.

Poor Boris, bested by a newbie with the same trick on back-to-back turns! Now THAT's an LOL.

Yes Zhar that's the reason I like Opera a lot too Although I hate some shortcuts (ctrl+v when the page is not fully loaded, opens some sort of blank page) and couldn't find this particular one to remove, probably didn't look hard enough in the shortcuts section..

Thing1 saying you're noob kinda reminds me to that Bible thingy "Ash you were and to ash you will return" or something like that, in your's, Zhar, case it apparently is "noob you were and to noob you will return" even though you are one of most experianced players here, think you started playing around the same time I did, give or take an era

monkey is a good browser.
opera is what i used at the moment, (over 1000 tabs open last wave on it) (6 different browsers windows)
Disadvanges of turn farming, in large amounts, is

people who start farming, in the last time mins up to the turn change, allows for lots of zeros.

But it used to be 8-10 turns of inactive income, before, so you could afford to miss ever 8 turns.

Besides, you're one of the top 10 of all time, as Jack who likes to sniff behind you pointed out. So how is it that you fell for the same trick twice in a row AND on consecutive turns, no less!?!?! THAT makes you a friggin' genius!

what are you blind as much as you are stupid? it was just one turn. you failed the second time. check the logs again.

and i cant learn anything new about farming and turn farming. maybe i can teach you.

if you start on time you will miss just 1-2 from 20 hits, which is still good if you have the 20 best farms open in tabs. more then 20 will give you more missed hits and lower the average hit.

I timed my self and came up with an average of 123 attacks a minute
