Nowadays banned in several countries in Europe for its link with far right fascist and neo-nazi groups usage as a symbol.

If PoD was to put another "national" symbol, such as German Empire Eagle (black eagle with red tongue and yellow background)...to opposite USSR flag, I think only unaware people would whine.

Honestly i find it strange that anyone gets offended by that as the nazi flag is as someone mentioned stolen from something else that is not that hard.

The thing is to many will just whine because they can and because they dont know the history of the flag.

Lets take Hitlers little love for his grettings with his hand, that actually stolen from the Roman Empire and was a standard regards in the army yet today its taken as bad if used because OHH HITLER DID IT, YES but so did the romans and thats what i am doing lol.

Anywho its not bothering me as in the eyes of Roleplay and ingame that flag has no meaning its only because people wanna take it into RL.

so if i had a signature with some pro Al-Qaeda slogans on it and a picture of 9/11 and claimed it was roleplay you would see that is ok?
i know most people would be offended?
even without the picture and just the slogans, alot of people would be offended!

its not nessicarily the history of the group or symbol, but what its remembered for!

A rather curt formulation, but in essence, it is just that. Your notion of 'why' I don't agree with.. inciting the people by means of propagandistic materials is pretty 'bad'. While I would argue for complete freedom, I know doing so would make the general naive, dumb, and ignorant population fall victim to orators and writers with great skill, be swept away on the tides of emotion. If there is anything worth being afraid of, it is the general population.

Wow. To think it's ok for a Nazi flag to be used. Removing or banning of the flag or like wise, isn't censoring the past. What it stands for is what you should see. If you want an evil sig, then find something like dead bodies of a video game. However, to use a Nazi flag that represnets a time of genocide, tirany and a world in pain, which is still felt to this day, then you need to leave these forums or give me yur id.

well, as i've stated previously, its no different to me posting a picture of the 9/11 attacks with my name on it and having some pro Al-Qaeda quotes on it, if i did that, i'd expect a ban.

but the fact remains he has stated he would remove it if nesicary and unless he wants to get on the wrong side of half the members of the forum he will find it nessicary.

Let me tell you a short story not that you probably care...

being american Especially a newyorker after 9/11 came i hated musslims i hated the ideas the practice and to be honest i wasn't exactly shy about that... i went to work at a factry a few years after 9/11 and i met this ma he was musslim and one of the nicest people i have ever met in my life i told him the truth and how i used to hate people who wore "towels on there heads"

he looked at me and said "i don't blame you if a christian did that to my country i would hate them aswell" that man taught me alot

i just don't see why someone would post hatered on an entire race...

and if it is for RP purposes to depict a "time of darkness" how will people know this? because he will constantly be hassled by members of the forum as all they will see is a flag that is considered by a majority of people to be a symbol of hate and war, and is something that won't be greeted politely but will cause him alot of problems on the forums!
