The administration have accepted that they've made a mistake, and are currently working on an amicable resolution to this situation.
I would advise everybody, moderators and users alike, to hold off on any rash action for at least another couple of days until things have had time to pan out.
If this problem is not solved to everybody's satisfaction, then there will be egg on four faces and at least one resignation. Please give us a chance, though.
