It IS only you, people like you and individuals who benefit financially from unpatentable plants who are opposed to it, Pops.
Oh, and then there's Jack, but only because he doesn't like potheads. Nor do I. Individuals who make any substance or thing a central part of their identity are ridiculous, from my experience. I think Anime should be outlawed or regulated.
Anime fans are much more intolerable than potheads, plus I have scientific evidence that Anime causes a myriad of mental disorders, including, among other things, raising the likelihood of people exposed to such sociopaths being called names like "baka". Furthermore, Anime causes those affected by it to feel that their eyes are of inadequate size, their nose of excessive size and their hairdo not spectacular enough, causing such individuals to seek any means to modify their appearance in an inane, mindless mess they call "cosplay".

Not really
I don't share same view for the other paragraph. I just find those anime fans excessive and a little crazy...not that I stand for them lolz.
Anyway, in the theme of the topic:

Agapooka
Completely agree with you there, it can get very irritating when people keep dismissing comparisons. Comparing things is awesome!

Yeah thats the thing most Potheads aren't really that imposing and quite easy to avoid, They're generally pretty quiet and will avoid going out if its possible, but the truth is its actually pretty hard to spot most marijuana users, there are people who use it to excess and allow it to take over their lives and then there are casual users who just like to get high
but are just normal law abiding citizens in every other aspect of their lives.
Damn Anime

Typical Poppy didn't read the whole sentence.
Furthermore, the basis of your argument so far consists of dismissing perfectly acceptable comparisons by naming the things being compared and saying that they can't be compared.
I will tell you why they can be compared. People are talking about potential objections that could possibly be had over marijuana and I am comparing marijuana to other things with those same potential objections. If anything, my comparisons demonstrate that those objections are ridiculous in and of themselves.
Poppler King also makes a good point when he distinguishes potheads from casual users. The truth is, it's the same with everything, insofar as it's possible to abuse everything, even food. We should ban food to prevent obesity. That comparison was for your entertainment, Poppler!

Re: Legalize Marijuana - Yay or Nay
Schools are funded by the government. They teach what the government wants taught.
Although, in the interest of philosophy, I haven't found a proper epistemological theory that declares that knowledge comes from school. Empiricism says that knowledge comes from the senses; rationalism holds that knowledge comes from reason, etc. I suppose that some irrational beliefs might hold that knowledge comes from authority...
Now, when it comes to smoke of any kind, I would agree that it's likely that lung damage may occur; however, that mode of consumption would likely damage the lungs of anyone, regardless of whether marijuana, dandelions, cat poo, oak leaves, acorns or peanuts were being smoked.
As for other government research or government funded research in the matter, which form the basis of what is taught in schools, many aspects of the experiments conducted have been called into question. For example, I've heard the claim that rodents were exposed to marijuana smoke and they eventually deteriorated and died. An investigation showed that they had been suffocated by the smoke, as they had masks that fed them the smoke, but no oxygen. A lack of oxygen DOES cause brain damage if one manages to survive.

Mark Twain
you know, in the 1800's, it was required by Govt that Hemp be grown (this is especially true in the US) because it helped the economy in so many ways, until big Pharma Corporations started popping up and coming out with their "Drugs" and found that Hemp was an obstacle that had to be removed, and so started the demonization of Hemp in the late 1800's and early 1900's to the present day...

the one thing all those who are opposed to Marijuana being made legal-all have in common is the health issue side of the argument, and yet, none of the opposer's look at the damage and death that "legal" drugs cause...
kind of hypocritical if you ask me

Unadulerated cannabis/weed/hemp etc etc isnt harmful to you if used corrected and in the right amounts.
And now you see the problem, how much were you taking? were you taking it with something (such as tobacco if you were smoking it)? Did you indeed use an unadulterated version of the drug and not some tampered with product?
Unless you grew it yourself you cant be sure you werent using a modified version of the plant/drug or that it hadnt been cut with something else that might have caused such symptoms.
btw I'd just like to ad that medical research has show that over 95% of all addiction have been shown to be mental rather than physical.

Re: Legalize Marijuana - Yay or Nay
personally i think marijuna hurts you less then alcohol i believe it should be legal if alcohol is but i'm not gonna sit back and let people say there are no negative affects to it because there are and i never even heard of losing sleep because of "withdrawl" from it so it couldn't have been in my head i feel if alcohol is legal then so should marijuna the three most addictive drugs in the world are legal why shouldn't pot be??? you have
Nicatine- which is the most addictive drug in the world
Alcohol- which is the 2nd most addictive drug
Caffine- which is the 3rd most addictive drug
addiction is judged by how it affects your brain wave each one of those drugs affect your brain the most out of any drug discovered by man over crack over heroine over pot over any drug you mention so why should they be legal without pot... the only reason i believe is why have another drug that IS addicting legal why have another thing that affects humans negativly legal???

that fact that Nicotine, Alcohol and Caffeine are legal and that pot isn't SHOULD tell you something about the mentality of the powers that be

I JUST SAID THAT!!!!
BUT
if marijuana is legalized all it would do was bring on more addiction in this world...
the reason everyone wants it legalized is because it is such a minor drug but if it becomes legalized wats next??

drug induced psychosis which can in-turn will eventually give you schizophrenia I am not joking, while small amount for some can have some consequences that are temporally good; long-term you are playing Russian roulette plays as you may I tell you this if you get this "Illness" its not for a day its not for a year or a few years in most cases it is there until you die..

Marijuana does not give anyone schizophrenia, it can bring it out in people who already have it or have a history of it in their family.
Do you also believe its a great idea criminalising ordinary decent people for just wanting to have a joint and relax???

I truely wish that was true, I agree with you its not criminal unless some one is there who doesnt want to be around it or children are around it who have no choice. The actual new model states and I tell you this from "current evidence" that as far as known everyone has a certain vulnerability to it. If there was no chance I would say bong on, but I am sorry to say its a matter for either time or circumstance you maybe lucky sincerly I wish all were but the fact remains there are a huge no of people with it who have no family condition..
