What makes a player a legend to you

I disagree... what did easy do to get such an award? *scratches head*.. make FS? You're a great bunch of guys.. but it's not exactly winning quantum three times in a row, being the most ruthless villain for a year and one of the most feared players ever, being the first to hit 100mill and be there for a long time, beating the game itself, making great changes to the game...

You seem to be overlooking that Clarkey was the first to reach Origin of Existence on the game, as well as a few ascentions before that, you probably overlooked it because Clarkey spends more of his time catching scammers and multi's then bragging about his achievements in the game.

I don't hero worship people for doing what they SHOULD do in their favourable positions...we should all hunt out and remove scammers and the likes from our community if we can the same as she SHOULD have, with her access to such ease of publicity made such effort to increase awareness of a disease.

Clarkey being the most successful of them for attending to it tirelessly was a product of his torchwood fantasy and something which fed his story. The only time this path truly becomes legendary is when the actions performed on it are such. I would argue the only real legendary thing about Clarkey is his eternal conflict with Hellboy and the other dude (assassinx?).. the rest is just progress for the game which everyone contributes too.

This is where the oh so knowledgeable Semper fails. My Torchwood fantasy??? I was hunting cheats long before I set up the Torchwood alliance. I was hunting them before I became (apparently) well known on the forums.

I'm not saying I am 'Legendary' for my cheat hunting, but I am saying that I do it because I have respect for those in this community that want to play fair, and they shouldn't be tricked by cheats and scammers. I don't do it for myself, I don't do it for any crappy 'Legendary' status, I do it for the people, yes even you Semper.


On the subject of the Hall of Fame from last year. I never once asked a single person to vote for me on any of the awards. I did not expect of people to vote. They have their choice, and I will not dictate or ask of them to vote for me. That would be considered as cheating. However, some people did come to me and say "hey Clarkey, i vote for you for Hall of Fame / Hero of the Year, you wouldn't mind voting for me would you for.......". I ignored that, and there were several from different people.

I did not have an EMPIRE to vote for me, I hardly had an alliance to vote for me, I did not ask people to vote for me, but yet people did and I still ended up on the Hall of Fame.

Maybe you are just sour because you have continously (up until recently) begged me to join Nemesis and join some of the most "clever and intellectual" players and posters on the forums.

Who mentioned your alliance? Don't presume so much. I refer directly to the Torchwood tv series and your link to it. it is similar to my affinity for Scrubs and Dr Cox. I add here though.. that starting something and committing to it tirelessly are two different things. You may have begun looking for scammers during your game play long before.. in fact on some level are we all not doing it from the moment we begin to play? However.. the point was you became more engrossed with it when it was fed by that fantasy.. that role. It is no different from myself in this case.. my role was enhanced by my mantle of coxxy.

I did ask you to join Nemesis repeatedly and I tried many different ways to get it across..and you did indeed turn us down many times... for fear of having too many admins in the same place.. or whatever excuse you gave me. What and you talk to me about presuming too much? You have absolutely no idea why I fight cheats, or what fuels it. It has nothing to do with a tv series, I watch many tv series, none of which (even Stargate) have any relation to my hunting cheats in this game. You make a statement that I became more engrossed in hunting cheats because of my torchwood fantasy... yet you have nothing to base that on besides the fact that I watch the series.... rather scraping the bottom of the barrel. Communications Admin isn't about responding to you, it's about Communicating messages regarding the forums from an Admin level, whether from Jason or the Forum Admins.

again.. your grasp of language is immense. Something you should do and something you have to do are different things. You should eat healthily in order to live a better life (so they say), but you do not have to do it and everyone who eat's healthily does not get a great reward beyond personal pride for it.. or some other gorping moron who has debased respect for someone with more muscle than themselves.

Everyone should do it... or not complain when they get cheated. It's a simple process. Everyone and anyone would complain if they were scammed and so should work to stop that from happening. You hunt scammers and people who do things 'against the rules' or against the norm. At the same time.. your signature.. your alliance (yes, now I am talking about it) all echoed this particular TV show...and they all adhere to a ROLE PLAYING GAME. Nothing to base it around? I have human psychology to base it around.. I have timing to base it around... I have logical progression to base it around. If I am right.. there is something in my memory that links even the name 'clarky' to torchwood.. (a quick google search confirms this..) the path is nigh on irrefutable. Of course though.. lol.. what does me claiming that I am intelligent have anything to do with this? Grasping at straws young master Clarkster? My arrogance is limited to the fields in which I play, mainly this game and this forum.. though it is fundamentally integral to my character - this I don't deny. Alas.. just depends on how far down the rabbit hole you can go? Thus far you've made a wonderful display of how to make the game about everything a person is..although maybe that point is unfair on you... and when I say reply.. I mean a reply in this sorta tone.

Just take the awards for what they are. Just a bit of fun, and not the be-all-end-all of this game. Obviously the whole game didn't vote, and obviously some did for the wrong reasons. The real "legends" of this place will always have their impact felt and their name spoken regardless of whether or not they were given a fancy tag to stick in their signature. Whether or not Clarkey is one probably remains to be seen.

Duh... but it's right on this occasion. You know me.. I would never admit I was wrong.. even if I was. Like I said.. it's a localised halo effect your votes came from FS and former FS members...very few in comparison came from the rest of the community.

As it stands this IS on topic.. it's just branching out a bit as we're debating the validity of the hall of fame in conjunction to the true SGW legends and to come to a fair conclusion on that to add to and enrich the topic we need to accurately access the process by which the hall of fame is chosen from several subjective positions as objectivity is naturally impossible. Just because you decided to take my post's as offensive and nothing more than an 'arrogant' person's opinion is your own prerogative.. but don't try and play the cloak and shadow game with the mods and me over it because you could not keep a cool head.

There are those who confuse 'intelligence' or 'legendariness' (is that even a word?) with the ability to weave words into a whiny string of whelpish wailing whilst leaving the illusion of being distant intact. That is natural. People are often amazed by those who talk at length, using words not common in everyday vocabulary, sometimes even making a good point we can agree with because John-Who-Summarised-That-Post summarised that unusual post. We ignore that usually, the lengthy posts are so ambiguous, that summarising it means taking one interpretation. If John has a good reputation, we are eager to project John's reputation over his summary, by extension over the lengthy post launched earlier, and implicitly (or explicitly, depending on the restraint shown by the enthusiastic fanboi hordes) on the author of said lengthy post. We ignore that said author has imbued his post with such ambiguity so as to enable others to make his point for him, while retaining a level of control over the outcome of the interpretation by, albeit indirectly, guiding others to the point he was trying to make.

We pretend not to care. But lo! there is that word again. Hypocrisy. Why is that vile and slanderous word here?! No one asked for it to be here. Yet it is, and for the simple reason that those who claim not to care, would do well to show they do not care by not fussing about what they pretend not to care about. In general, it is a very bad thing if pretense is confronted with something that suggests the direct opposite. In this case; we pretend not to care, yet complain about what we pretend not to care about. Since it has become clear for everyone who actually bothers to read the whole 'discussion' (using the word with the utmost caution, because one could hardly call a schoolyard brawl a discussion without insulting our wise ancestors) that we do care.. why not drop the pretense, come right out and say it. We are disappointed. We lost the game. Now we are in a sucky position, and we HATE to be anything but in first place. Also, we HATE to see others get the recognition we feel we deserve. So, our next logical step would be to blemish that which the others get recognition for. Oh, you should see the glory and splendour of our own coronation, had we been elected kings and queens of our own little fantasy world.. it would outshine the modest glitter from the current, false, pretender-to-the-throne-like, kings and queens.

And when you do, do so in all the majesty, magnanimity and generosity you can muster. You do not bother blemishing your name or reputation by inserting yourself in threads that do not concern you. But when you do.. make it count.
Decisiveness. When the need was there, you were able to annihilate your enemy at moments notice.
Excellence. You became the Legend for a reason. You achieved what no one else achieved when you achieved it, you held up under continuous enemy fire for longer as anyone else has, you have stolen/killed/farmed/... the most anyone has ever stolen/killed/farmed/...,
Immortality. In three years, the Old Guard will still know your name, and if you post about your return everyone but the most ignorant shudders in their boots at the sound of your familiar battlecry. Your 'disciples' continue to fight in your name for as long as history permits.
