The Purpose of Untrained Mercs

Here's the official announcement, maybe it should be stickied for the nxt time someone asks.

Untrained Mercinaries serve absolutely no purpose.

Well they can make your army look bigger on your stats page, but I've never found that important.

UM need some purpose, like if you have untrained then trained come slightly cheaper.

so training untrained mercs is slightly cheaper than buying trained mercs

and other than that untrained mercs server no realistic purpose except for making your army look bigger

waste of time if you ask me

I feed them to the shai-hulud of my world...it would seem that the Fedayin aren't as fanatical as I'd hoped...

Actuall, this seems accurate, on secdond thought. Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" discusses the useless nature of mercenaries extensively.

Sun Tzu is a classic text regarding the Art of War...seeing as how this is a war game...the reference is appreciated...
