thats a bit harsh, no?

well it would make the wars faster which would mean they would end quicker.
if it was 5 vs 5. you had a 6hr time to rebuild. that way if you can keep them below 300bil defense for more than 6hrs then they are out of the contest for that battle. when all of your team is out in the battle the war is over. simple enough.
So the team with people who have no life win? Uhh... fail.

None of the battles should be based time, in any way, whatsoever. Unless you give them like at least 24 hours to do something, like rebuild a defense.

I like this idea and it could be really fun. I hope what Honoredslayer was saying is what Semper was thinking... That's who I was asking

oh i find my self thinking a lot like semper recently. don't know why though.
and we wouldn't make it 6 hrs mate we would make it like 12 hrs.
i mean if you wake up and take a quick look at your account. you could easily rebuild a 300bil defense and be back in the running. if you work a 12 hour shift or more than your either overworked or you love your job too much.

example of how easy it would be to play the 12 hr rule and not the 6 hr rule.
i wake up at 6 and get ready for school then at 630 i log in check my stuff. spam a bit till about 7. which is when i leave. i get home about 3 which is 8 hrs later. and then i go to bed anywhere from 10 pm to 1 am after i check my account and bank and stuff and change my settings. that is another 7 to 10 hrs. then i wake back up at 6 which is 8 to 5 hrs later.

Re: The Grand Campaign.

also another idea for an area bonus.
limited amount of turns to be used.
like you have 1k turns to do the most damage possible.
you reset ME then you begin.
when you hit the 1k mark. of turns used you print screen copy your logs and your Temp ME page. and put them up in a topic for that little skirmish. the ones that inflicted the most overal damage wins.
Note we would give new point values to certain things. like we wouldn't take naq into account at all. its all about how much you destroyed in 1k turns.

You get how the map is split up, yes? (map of galaxy split into quarters, quarters split into more areas).

Assuming yes. Each 'turn' within the league each team/alliance would be able to move one square. Each square is worth victory points and should another team posses that square you would have to fight them in one of the alliance battles. This would vary depending on the scenery or environment within that area of space. For example.. a Nebula would require a vendetta between two players, normal space would be planet stealing war, asserted enemy territory would be attrition..asteroid fields would require a 'no MS' war to be fought and so on and so forth...might even be able to work something nifty in to do with spies and sabbing.

The goal is obvious. To conquer the galaxy, OR.. have the most victory points within the time frame of the league (as we don't want it dragging on for all eternity and will want to re-set it every so often).

At the same time, we can also allocate special bonus' to squares. On one, maybe have listening station which means your opponent has to give you certain numbers of their stats. We could even go so far as to say that all teams must start without merlins and ppt and must discover the technology to utilise them. The possibilities are many.

Furthermore it would be good if each team was a faction.. or race.. or something akin. A lot of good role play could come out of this too.

Sounds awesome, if i can participate I might come off Vacation Mode for this.

So obviously you are going to upload a Map of some sort for us all to see once you get it worked out. I assume the map would also be updated so you can see who controls what area... like maybe mH is bordering FS and Leaf Village but FS has more Victory Points so then mH attacks them as opposed to Leaf Village, would need an up to date map to see that

Eh, just talking to myself I suppose...

i mean this would go smoothly with a decent map. unless it is the star trek galaxy map. that just wouldn't do. there would be borg everywhere and some bald captain going around promoting peace amongst planets.

good roleplay idea semper. using field types to determine types of battle.
