been trying to find a picture from Buzz Aldrin's latest book which apparently shows a monolith
on the moon (or one of the other planetary bodies of our solar system, cant remember), but haven't found it yet

This is just bad headline grabbing, its like theres water in the desert if you know how to create a basic condenser.
We wont be able to recover/extract it, without significant effort that would make the whole enterprise pointless.
EDIT: as for the monoliths, what? are we in the 2001 film now? I wouldnt put much stock in orbital photos, that can and are decieved by many things and lets not forget the amount of probes etc we've sent out and a fair few have crashed you know
