Re: Do you Support Random Massing yes or no ?

I have massed people randomly and I have massed people for my own reasons. The random massings are not nearly as satisfying as massing someone for an arbitrary reason. Kikaz posted a nice list.

And I am not advocating picking on the weak or the small alliance/player. I am talking about things like Juan massing everyone ranked in the top 100. Or when STE made the top ten a hit list and then started accepting bribes to not mass them. For those who claim to be bored, they should look at rank one at take a shot (alliance or player depending on how much heat you can handle). Otherwise they are more talk then action. I have taken my shots and I will tell you that the boredom faded to nothing when the more powerful opponents came knocking. I tip my hat to all my current and former opponents of skill, you know who you were and still are in some cases.

All that to say you can put me in the yes column, but a reason makes it better.

Honours and Awards

Re: Do you Support Random Massing yes or no ?

I see a huge difference between unprovoked attacks on weaker players and unprovoked attacks on stronger players.

The former is cowardice, whereas the latter is admirable. Combined with good planning and strategy, the latter can also be successful.

If a 7x ascended, large alliance player with large 350mil army masses me with no good reason, am I to believe that that player was too frightened to attack someone that was more of a challenge, instead? It isn't even a question of morality to me, as I couldn't care less about whether or not it's right. It's a question of how a player broadcasts themselves to the world, saying, loud and clear, that they would rather pick on someone that has no chance of hitting them back.

An unprovoked attack on a stronger opponent, however, isn't even received with the same energy. From what I could gather from personal experience and comments from others, such attacks are usually met with congratulations when successful, although that congratulations may be followed up with a retaliation - a risk that the initiator accepted! :)

Re: Do you Support Massing For Reason's Of Wavering Consequence

There's always a reason. However moronic or clever, there still within lies a reason, whether someone else thinks its important or not, doesnt make it not a reason. But if you (the masser) are massing somebody, their is a process by which you came to mass them, in the process their is reasoning.

There's such a thing as a "random massing" by its definition, but I would doubt anybody does it. And if you think you do, I would like you to explain your process because its probably not as random as you think it is.

As such I respectfully request, that the name of this thread be changed to.

Re: Do you Support Massing For Reason's Of Wavering Consequence

the "yes or no ?" bit will no longer fit into the new thread name due to its increased length, sorry.

..

my answer to the question which I think you were trying to get at, Do I support massings for reasons of wavering consequence, no, I dont even support massings for reasons of gigantic consequence.

However, my answer to the question you asked even if inadvertently is yes. Random Massings in the true sense, sure why not, sounds like fun. Someone start rolling a dice and pick someone at random to mass, in all likely hood, youll pick some random inactive account 99% of the time. And eventually if you do find someone active, its a good chance it may be someone in your Alliance or that you consider an ally/friend/colleague/aqauintance
