Re: Planets names (and what they really mean)
Mine are named according to their function, but in a language I made up.

Modern songs are either too crap or don't fit in a 10 lines x 30 letters neat little box. Maybe Jason can increase the size from 30 to 40 or 50 letters for us. And gimme an apostrophe god dammit! Being the stickler for grammar that I am, I have to say I'm appalled at my own planets.
SO RIGHT!! This is the most pressing issue about the game that needs updating!
I say we march on stalingrad right now and confront him!
(dont know why stalingrad, probobly because im reading the book stalingrad)

Mine used to be admissions of my superiority *cough cough* by those who conquer them.. I have come to neglect the names lately.

Re: Planets names (and what they really mean)
so many interesting names out there... but the text options are severely limited... we'd like to be able to use things like é, è, Å, þ, ð, æ, ø, ö, ñ, õ, etc...

"Great holy armies shall be gathered and trained to fight all who embrace evil. In the name of the gods, Browsers shall be changed to carry the internet out amongst the peoples and we will spread Firefox to all the unbelievers. The power of the Firefox will be felt far and wide and the wicked users of IE shall be converted to use the true browsers."

Re: Planets names (and what they really mean)
till wars, mine were lyrics to the song halo(which was my ms name)
this is our call to arms
will you stand beside me
this is our time to fight
no more compromising
and this blackened heart
... will sing
for sad song of charity
halo over my demise
following a god so blind
sallow in their sickening
this is our call to arms
will you stand beside me
this is our time to fight
no more compromising
and this blackened heart
... will sing
for sad song of charity
halo over my demise
following a god so blind
sallow in their sickening

Re: Planets names (and what they really mean)
I have CTU on my planets as i'm a big Jack Bauer fan.
Previously i've used my planets to advertise selling and buying resources.
The only time i've used "protected by" is when JediMasterX was my CO, and I was much smaller back then.

haha I still see accounts out there with "protected by JMX" or "Jedi Master X will mass you" or variations.
JMX must have been kept very busy protecting those hundreds of planets
Wonder how he found the time- xXxsephirothxXx

Re: Planets names (and what they really mean)
These days my planets are just named after bands, used to have the fancy texts in mine which were kept after the update, so they were useless and 25k up each, but had the fancy double arrow happening
">>" (but closer together forgot how to do it).

Slightly offtopic: I love naming planets with extremely provoking names then abandoning them...
I've given up trying to name mine
but before that, I named them after 40k titan legions. (No, I'm not referring to the T I T A N S Legion
)

i enjoy doing stuff like that. wasting a mere 10bil naq for a beacon. naming it like a gift from the gods. or find and be massed. then a week later checking the location and starting a conversation with the random finder. lol. its an interesting way to meet people.
