iPhone App

Me as an iPhone user would love to have an app for Gatewars.
I always have to go to the site and click my way through, but it is very messy. If someone could program a simple Gatewars App it would be fantastic.
as they say: "There is an App for that.."
so why not for Gatewars?

I think someone has asked about this before. Personally, I think it would not really be fair to those of us who don't have iPhones. I can only play while I'm at my computer, and many others are in the same boat. I think having to use a clumsy touch-screen keyboard on the html page on your 3" screen is a fair trade-off for having 24hr on-hand access to your account.

Also, I'd imagine having it written into an app would be akin to playing with a script. For me, having everyone play using the same html forms keeps the field level and the play fair.

unfortunately i cant agree with you. my laptop receive internet 24/7 as i have wireless so im no less capable then anyone with a phone. also an app for an iphone would only be making it fair because lots of phones have the capability to make things mobile view anyway (i know my sidekick makes gatewars in to a mobile apge on its own). It would give no advantage or take an advantage from anyone.


However would be a good way for admin to advertise and make extra money. People see the app and download. make it 1.99 and make a little profit when people do download it.

@Muff: I thought about the whole 3G broadband thing when I was writing my reply. I came to the conclusion that the user still needs to open and boot their laptop regardless of where they are. So they still need to be in a computer-friendly location.

However, an iPhone (and the like) can simply be removed from one's pocket at the grocery store/bus stop/cinema and used for 10 seconds to bank and train. That, I think, is advantage enough. Having an app created to make it even easier is a distinct and unnecessary advantage to those people who have immediate hand-held net access. You can use the GW web pages on your iPhone (I've browsed the net on my friend's iPhone, the quality of browsing is great), therefore you do not really need an app.
