It has great potential, and you have yet to really see anything. Just like the other Stargate series. Just shut up, and enjoy it. Stop looking to deep into things and just enjoy the show for pete's sake. :P

this is the best post ive seen so far

excellent opinion...

we too are annoyed by the "why couldnt this", "they should have that" posts...

we agree that the ship probably intends to use that star as power source... its rather logical...

it wouldnt be natural or productive to the series if all problems were solved after 4 episodes...
considering that they needed 3 episodes for intro & getting air, they'll probably use at least 1 more for power... and they'll need a lot more time to figure out the other things about the ship... it wouldnt be fun if they'd come there to a full users manual laying right before them at the gate...

Re: Stargate universe

I love the last few posts. Am I being pedantic? Perhaps. But it is such a gaping plothole. No one can logically explain it, therefore, it is just a gaping hole....and they repeatedly use the stones for such trivial things....its the worst plothole since "one stuns, two kills, three disappears".

Fair enough. Lets all give it a chance.....but if they keep using the stones to have a cuppa with their families I'm gonna go insane....

Re: Stargate universe

its Stargate, just be grateful the franchise lives on

this series is more based on character development, so should prove quite interesting as it progresses

i have to agree, some predictable parts

especially the end of episode 4, heading towards the sun, quel surprise

Re: Stargate universe

there's only two sources of energy already in existence that its possible for a ship that size to recharge from, considering that its so old... stars and black holes... and due to a black hole having an annoying effect upon time, its impractical to draw power from that, which leaves only a stars... (this post presumes that ZPMs were not developed at the time of the launch of destiny)

/agree

Who says we aren't enjoying the show? I am... and I pretty much said what Noobert did in the last paragraph I last wrote, or at least tried to... There are a lot of unexplained things so far and many assumptions being thrown about, but I am gonna stick out until at least the end of the Season to see where things are then...

I will probably end up watching it until the series is over though because it's one of the few new Sci-Fi shows on TV that doesn't have special effects that looks like they spent $5 producing...

Yes it is a VERY large sum...in fact, many movies have been made for less...

I personally like something different, but the drama-drama-drama formula will make me hate the show if it continues...

I need to see more Aerobraking...that was an awesome scene. Which brings me to the point of my post...

Does anyone else think the cinematography of SGU is reminiscent of BSG?
(Not necessarily a bad thing, I loved BSG space combat scenes, even if the show lost me after a while)

Re: Stargate universe

Im enjoying it so far. I dont need everything on a plate from the off.

I do agree however that the stones, while a good idea to implement into the show, are being used poorly.

But even so, at least whilst being used poorly, they're using them logically at the same time. It makes sense that the commander would pull some influence to see his family, and as the only one with constant access to the stones it makes sense. If eli and the rest of the brains/grunts start going home to catch up on the sports it'll get out of control though.
