I don't quite understand the sex scene with soldier boy and the senator's daughter...

He's already doing one of the othe soldiers, and as far as I can recall...we've only ever seen him and the senator's daughter together onscreen once or twice...

On the other hand, she's been hanging all over Eli for most of the show...

This portrays her in a very different light than they've shown her in so far, as a strong and independent character with good morals...

Again, for me, the best part were the scenes involving the star...

The story was b-level drama...not up to par...

Yeh i was a bit like WTH, there sex scene came out of nowhere #-o

There are so many plot holes but meh, can only get better i guess?

you are all way to critical...

of course everything wont be explained quickly...

we really liked the redefining of "solar powered"

that single detail made the episode unique...

It's the Ancients. There is most likely a system that can convert raw energy from stars into power for the ship. At least, this is what came to mind when I saw it. :P

I agree though, people are way to critical. This is Stargate people. Not Lord of the Rings. There are loopholes, there are sex scenes with many different women and only one guy (usually people like John Sheppard, Cam Mitchell, and the awesome yet super Richard Dean Anderson!).

I think though..that soldier chick was way more smoking then that crying little girl of a Senator. Personally, my favorite character as of now is Eliah.

He adds humor, and I believe he has truly yet to become a main part of this story. He's very smart from the looks of it too, and yet they don't use it yet..odd. :D

How many went unnoticed that they chose not to show? Quiet a few.

We all know full well they were in there.

Re: Stargate universe

I dunno....the sex scene showed the seriousness of the relationship between senator-daughter and pilot-boy....otherwise we'd have thought she felt more for math-boy.....it was aimed at showing the physical attraction she obviously feels for pilot-boy, whereas she sees math-boy as a big cuddly friend.

It does add to the story somewhat.....and makes you wonder whats going on between pilot-boy and army-woman.....

But I'd rather sgu not go down this whole love-triangle type thing.....the Ronan/McKay/Keller stuff got awkward enough at times.....I just don't think the sg writers pull it off well....and I don't want sgu becoming some soap opera.....

Well I thought they were attracted, after the episode where they were looking for the stuff to fix Life Support, they were like all lovey dovey in Lt. Scott's room.

Re: Stargate universe

Most definitely - the last thing I want is to watch a soap in space.

A bit of romance every now and then, fair enough. I didn't mind the whole Carter/O'Neill relationship, and the Vala/Daniel wasn't as painful as it could have been. In small doses, no problem.....just don't let them hijack the whole show :-$

Re: Stargate universe

what SGU needs desperatly is someone funny like Oneill and Mitchel in SG-1 and Shepperd for SG Atlantis. The only one with a few jokes at hand is mathboy. Everyone else is dead serious all the time.

Similarly, I believe that people in general are inherently flawed. Deep down, we are programmed to hurt one another; either physically or emotionally. People are naturally selfish and greedy; governed more by bestial urges than common sense or ethics. Society is a terrible thing, too. The more supposedly civilized we become, the more immorality and decadence become the main staple of our daily diet.

Before Lost concluded, my main flippant excuse for not killing myself was that I wanted to know how it ended. I will get back to you with a new one when I find it.
