it keeps zombies from harming the windshield... normally it will prevent zombies from getting into the vehicle, but since it was already inside, the effect was opposite... it prevents zombie from getting out through windshield...

you know, the car isnt able to enter the gun store, no matter how much you exists it... and there's minimal room inside the car to run...
