Ah well.. I guess you know what you're doing, MD.
Best of luck there, and have a great time.

Dont forget to let us know which ones accept your application & which one you finally choose to goto.
And just something that helped me along a lil, as soon as you know which one you are planning to attend grab as much of their paperwork as possible, such as thier procedures and appeals processes and their expectations of you etc. Might help to know all that sort of stuff just on the off change that you might need it one day
Then relax and enjoy, especially the first year (which if you know your subject matter shouldnt be too difficult) so get out & socialise but dont blow your loan all in one go & try to stay out of too much trouble eh

haha, i'll keep you all posted. i'm also doing my CAO (irish version, much easier to fill out
) so i'll be keeping my choices open.
and i'll be keeping the loans to a minimum, as i'll be getting a grant for each year, and i've also a few grand saved away for university
so anyone have advice on accommodation?

For the first year at least living in halls of residence is a great thing to do, it will give you plenty of socialising chances. It will also throw you into a mix of poeple you might otherwise never meet & give you ample opportunity to learn how to get along with them all
After that I'd advise renting a house somewhere close by with some of the friends you made in the first year, as renting a house is always cheaper than halls of residence.
But fir the first year using halls of residence (either private of run by the uni in question is a great idea, for the above reasons)

A friend of mine goes to Huddersfield, and she enjoys it thoroughly. She didn't think she would, and she was nervous about going, but she's fallen in love with the place. I went to visit her, and it had a nice atmosphere.
Also, their chancellor is Patrick Stewart. Patrick effing Stewart.

You would have to contact the universities that you have applied to for more information about their halls.

for first year, halls of residence is a must
self-catered/catered is up to your own choice, i chose self-catered, your gonna have to learn to cook eventually
as for university accomodation availibility, the majority of universities guarantee first years accomodation if they are from outwith the universities local area (in my case, if your local council wasn't the council the uni is in)

I fella i once worked for teaches Psycology in the University of Liverpool. If thats the Uni in liverpool you applied for, i am assured it has one of the best Social Science units in the land.
Ive heard nothing but aweful things about southampton!
Hull is also meant to be very good for social science.
