Interraction between Ascended, Prior and Main accounts

Can we have a side order of "Why?" with that? I don't mind people not agreeing, or even rampantly opposing anything I suggest (it helps you realise when you are going horribly, horribly wrong, heh), but it is always helpful to get a bit of reasoning in there too.

I feel that I am well qualified to offer you the question "Why?", so I am hereby asking you that question since you asked for it

As for the suggestion, i like what phoenix said for the most part. Perhaps not the exact bonus, that will have to be adjusted. At the same time, this whole thing is kind of like having officers... but their worshippers instead... so perhaps simply change the bonus for ascended people and change the name officers to worshippers... or something along those lines...

I would welcome the 5% bonus to 1 stat per users choosing. it would help personalize and lets face it, 5% aint that much to complain about. so just shut up, if You dont like it and have got nothing useful to say to help perhaps develp this, then just shut up and post elsewehere on this forum.

AGAIN, as I said in the topic about the miners soon to be introducerd, if You dont like it, go and play elsewhere!!! nobody is forcing You to play here!

ok, lord annubis, i agree with walhalla, be assured i will acsend...when i can, it aint cheep! however this would add a nice addition to the game. and he wasnt forcing them to go elsewhere, he was basicly saying, its here, we voted it in by majority, so if you dont like it, either get used to it, or leave! i agree. and note he said

Personally I'd rather not see this become an update as the main strongpoint to the ascended server is that your ability to buy your way through the game has little impact, as does who you know, it relies far more on your own abilities. If you start connecting it to the main server beyond the ascention points then this aspect will begin to deteriorate and people will push for more ties that they can use to boost their ascended accounts outside the ascention game until it reaches a point such that you might as well just merge the two games.

Curses, you have me there! My only hope is to watch the original movie and hope he's ranked as a Major in that.

As far as the suggestion goes - the sensible idea would be to make the bonuses to the Ascended account quite minimal. An extra planet a day or something similar.

one problem with this idea of worshipping the ascendants is that according to stargate law the worshipees will never ascend and will be kept at a low technology and enlightement to stop them from doing so. hah

Not necessarily. Only the Ori as they appear in SG1 have taken that pathway. It does not have to be that way - look at Oma Desala and everything she did before her "end".

But the Alterrans (not sure of the spelling, guessing considering they were supposed to have created us - terrans) insisted on not being worshipped and not interfering in the lower plans so they wouldn't fit with this idea either.

True, but again that was because of their basic belief system. Science and understanding, not religion. They had no desire to be worshipped as gods, and so chose not to have many dealings with the lower planes.

There's nothing to say that another group of Ascended beings couldn't choose a race of lesser beings and interract with them on a day to day basis, advancing their society and knowledge until they too were ready to Ascend. And so on and so forth. The only downside to that is that the collective "power" of the Ascended would be spread more thinly.

As a side note, this raises the question "Do other beings Ascending in fact slightly weaken the power of ALL Ascended beings?". If so, then the best way to defeat the Ori would be to have everyone and their dogs ascend. If not, well, never mind.
