I want to start a topic about 2 subjects that no doubt have plenty of threads of themselves, and get players opinions on them as they seem to be closely tied.

Random massing- give your opinion on what you think this is and why you think it is what you say it is.

Massing because "I'm bored"-

Random Massing is, as defined by me, massing someone who has not done anything to you, ie. for just having some spies is random massing in my book...

Massing because "I'm Bored" is rather pointless imo, as there are plenty of people out there willing to give you a live battle, so why screw up soe poor guys plans when a simple "hey anyone wanna battle?" would probobly result in much more entertainment

Random massing is when someone has done nothing to you, but you feel the need to mass them. Its wrong, and downright pethetic in my eyes.

Massing because your bored ties into random massing. Its one in the same. Massing someone that has done nothing to you...

Yes but if your a role player and your purpose or role is conquest, then what?

ME hunts, and practicing how the mass a 10,20,30 Trill def is a different matter. I personally have not massed for ME hunting yet, I was tempted a few weeks back and even spoke to JT about it but in the end decided to keep my ME pure and made of war. Massing a def just to practice and find the best way to do it I see nothing wrong with, we all got to learn these things and statbuilders kinda deserve it for... well being statbuilders

I have and will mass any one at any time, it's fun.

Big accounts with big stats have good resources, so I mass them down and feed off of them. Make them a farm after massing, most of them build a smaller def and then easy for me to hit.

The naq hit on someone and then the smart ass pm back to you- I mass them.

The war you like to start- mass a few and see what happens.

So all massing go to a reason.

role playing is good , and there are ways to conquest , by extermination, diplomacy, last man standing, etc . my idea of conquesting is to let others recognize yr power and also to fight another battle tomorrow.

dominating, at this point of the game most probably would result in making ppl leave . the big show ended (sg1)

Firstly, OMG at some of the posts . There is no such thing as "random" massing. Even your choice of targets can't be random, unless like mezz says, you roll some dice and mass that ID. You will mass because you are bored and want to do something, or someone insulted you, or you want ME or you RP a conqueror like JT said or w/e, those are still reasons and, therefore remove the random from that side. And your target is always chosen for a reason, be it big stats or big mouth or officer of someone you dont like or offensive name, etc.

Secondly, its a GAME, if you get upset over something that happens in a game then you completely missed the point of playing a game and I suggest you seek counseling cos you desparately need it.

use an id generator and mass so u fit in the term or stick wit the forum term , Random mass : coz i can, i m bored, i conquest, etc.
however i never seen a Random mass player massing "big guns" , guess why

Im designated a "random masser" (not by me) and I will tell you right now m8 I find the biggest guns around to mass...but in a general sense you are right.
