I have no absolute knowledge of who moved it to dump but I guess it was Tetrismonkey.

Earlier today in the Mod Forums Tetrismonkey made these statements:

Clarkey, do you honestly think we want you around? Get the **Filtered** out of here. You did you apology, so now **Filtered** off. Either shut up about all this or I will personly make your time on these forums a livig hell.

Can i just point out to the admins, Clarkey has just revealed posts from the Mod forums, As such he should have his access to said forums immediatly Revoked. Hes broke the rulez thar!

On the note that this "evidence" presented is infact, of a dubious nature and was obtained through illegal means, I forward the motion that this evidence is infact, mere propaganda, Used only to slate TetrisMonkey.

Newspapers in the UK obtain information illegally all the time, it dont change the fact that if the information incriminates others in worse crimes the method is deemed justifiable.

Most of us dont know what happens behind the scenes in the mod section, and I dont condone Clarkey's actions which upset a lot of people BUT these quotes clearly show that he is now being victimised by at least one Mod, and a Mod who abuses their power should no longer be a Mod.

Sadly this is just one example of many about Mods who apply rules with discrimination and bias against those they have personal issues with. Mods like politicians are all tared with the same brush because they cant or wont clean their own house.

but by clarkey posting these posts, he himself is abusing his undeserved powers. so his powers should be removed too then, yes?

So your saying its bad to delete things, If it is wrong to do so, Then tetris monkey deleted one post and should be removed from his job. Clarkey deleted an entire forum and therefor, should be removed from the forum? Or at least, not given special purple privelidges.

Anyway, leaking information from the mod forum is not allowed.

My point was not about Tet deleting a single post, it was about the quote above saying he would 'dump' any post Clarkey made in future, thats clear victimisation and abuse of power. So yes, he should NOT be a Mod.

Re Clarkey deleting the spam section, I was banned at the time and dont know the details but it clearly upset a lot of people and I dont condone it, and yes again abuse of power, he should not be a Mod either.

Problem is as I stated, so many Mods abuse power, if they were all kicked the few left would not have time to cover the forum.

If I had my way several mods including Tet would be removed, Mod section would be open for all to view but only able to post in a 'report' thread, and Modding would only occur if a post was reported by 2 or more forum members who were actually offended by it.

Right now we suffer from over-modding, bias-modding and unbalanced-Modding, some get warnings for things others get away with, some get targeted by mods that dont like them, posts are moved/deleted for personal/alliance reasons, its all a mess.

Visit FS forum and you will see what a free and fair forum looks like

If I had my way several mods including Tet would be removed, Mod section would be open for all to view but only able to post in a 'report' thread, and Modding would only occur if a post was reported by 2 or more forum members who were actually offended by it.

The mod forum is hidden so that mods can have a place where they can go and be themselves rather than a forum staff member. A place we can ask dumb questions without it being held against us, where we can discuss upcoming changes to regulations before it hits the community (giving us a chance to pound them out). It's a place where we are allowed to express our opinions and thoughts on specific actions without being watched and judged. It's meant to be a place where we can argue without the forum users seeing it so we can present a unified front when in public.

For alot of mods, it's the only place they're truly comfortable being themselves. Allowing the general community to view what happens there would... well, it would make the mod section completely unnecessary, most of us would stop posting there and just go to msn/irc or some other private place.

I understand the reasoning why you'd want it public, but, I don't forsee it happening any time soon

This is a bit surprising. When you and I were admins together, Clarkey, we removed someone for doing this exact same thing. The ombudsman has no authority in the mod forums and we try to do our own dirty laundry whenever possible. You should have contacted the mod admin, Earendil I presume, if you had a problem with Tetrismonkey's behavior. I guess you forgot.

I'm all for greater transparency within the team, but there are things which the staff need to discuss discreetly. I'd favour a system where the archives are released after a year or so, like the system in the UK government, but I'd have to oppose a completely public staff section.

oh i always find it incredibly amusing when people say the modding here is biased, too tough, whatever. maybe we should go back to the days of Shaitan? seriously here, you all have it the best here. you have rules that have been altered over time to be more relaxed on you, you have an ombudsman to appeal cases to, and mods STILL get called unfair?
