ASCENDING NAME BUG

flash please get the facts correct not that fua use facts much. This is not a ttf thing but a taf thing we found out about this when a few of our members tried to ascend and found someone had taken there name so we decided to have some fun with it and its not all of us that have done it but about half a dozen. As for someone crying bug exploiter get over it, everyone exploits a bug when they find one but only mention it when it doesnt help them. This is war but its also a fun game irrespective of a few players that love to talk smack, so lighten up and get massing

what consequences are you refering to exactly and what rules have been broken ? get off youre high horse and keep youre insults to yourself. I used we as im currently HC of TAF and if you think im guilty of something report me as im easy to find in main and ascended and yes im one of the players who has had to change main name as someone took my ascended name but do you see me crying about it

hehe, i'm not angry about it, i just assumed it was something that all of u were doing because the first 2 or 3 names i checked had that happen to them, i wasn't gonna go through and check every single fuall name, that would take forever and i wanted to get some farming in yesterday before i went to bed, lol.

The purpose of changing one's name on ascended is not to prevent someone else ascending nor is it meant to bully or force someone in to using a name change in order to ascend.

This is a bug, and it has already been stated in here that people are knowingly doing it knowing full well what their actions are doing and that it is an abuse of a bug.

Whether Jason takes action against anyone using it or not is not the main point here, the main point is that the bug should be fixed ASAP to prevent any further abuse.

Aah... I like a good debate.

Firstly, namechanging isn't against the rules. Nor is it immoral. I remember at the start of the war a lot of FUAll players changed their names to those of TTF members in an attempt to confuse us. We decided to get our own back on the ascended server by using names of FUAll members and then attacking them

As for the supposed bug... Truth is that any feature of the game is available for everyone to use. From what has been pointed out the gameadmins are almost certainly perfectly aware of the fact that having your main name duplicated in ascended prevents you from completing the ascension process, forcing you to have a name change. I'm sure this has impacted on many players over the YEARS that this has gone on (I do recall a friend of mine having problems 2-3 years back with this, though it was their first ascension). If the gameadmins did not intend namechanges to stop ascensions, then they would not have created the system that allows it to happen, or when it did happen it would have been corrected there and then.

If for whatever reason the gameadmins have decided it is a bug and yet chose not to fix it, then it cannot be deemed a bug at all, just another feature that was accidentally added to the game and the admins decided to keep.

However I would like to add one final thing, the script should have been changed years ago, but late is better than never as they say.

And PUG or whatever your name is now ....I know you have an axe to grind because you too didn`t comprehend this feature and your ascensions were impacted, but you were naughty to post in here so accordingly you are fined three namechanges.

Firstly bebita.. PoD wasn't in TA at the time your reffering to. It was after he left and I think he was in CoTO.

Secondly, this isn't something we gain a strategic advantage from at all. Its even for both sides, we use a namechange, you use a namechange. I can see how its annoying to have done to you, and if you don't have a namechange handy it'd be even more annoying. But if there is no advantage, its not an "exploit'.

Thirdly, if this is what it takes to bring it to admins attention and get the damn script changed, then its best for the game in the long run

u need a punish because who knows what bugs this game have and is clear u will exploit them at first moment u will know about them
is time someone to learn u and all that guys who thinks a bug that is not fixed is allowed to be exploit

Lets not snipe at each other here as that helps no-one and nothing.

The issue has been highlighted here and is going to Jason.

Therefore no further discussion is really needed is there, because all i see is accusations.

If Jason choses to do nothing with this then you cannot blame the people that are doing it because it all comes down to Jason being the Game Coder and his responsibility to fix it. If he choses not to then it becomes a part of the game. If you don't want it to be a part of the game then go to the admin meet and discuss it like adults with jason, or email him, or PM him on forums. If you chose yourself not to take it to jason then you don't have much of a right to complain here because you yourself are not doing anything about it.

it is jason's responsility and he has to fix it.
