I still believe that anything to do with MLG and certain teams is a joke. I've played MLG Varient against many teams, some good, some bad. In the end, it just comes down to camping corners and spawn camping.

There is no skill in such play, that is why I rather enjoyed watching the 10,000$Tournament between Team AoX and Team FeaR. I only saw the SnD though.
