yea i do understand what you are saying. but why is the reason we have these pauses and others dont?
you say that these pauses are caused because "we had no pressure on us to change"
reason why we had no pressures? because we had adapted to that envoirnment perfectly. and the reason why some animals dont have these is because they havnt perfectly adapted to their environment.

now humans being current dominant being on earth expeirenced evolutionary pauses because they had no pressure on them. Other beings, if they are to indeed become anything close to us, they will also go through the same process wont they..

theres lots of arguments about what you brought out there kit fox, becuase like you said, we dont know why these pauses happen.
you think its ok to assume that the pauses occur becuase there isnt any pressure, then wouldnt it be true that the other life forms must also have pauses in their evolutionary life?
if those beings are also to be dominant, they will experience same evolutionary steps as us..



now that was just for the sake of arguemnt lol.. i dont think this is the reason why this happen.. infect i didnt even know about these pauses.

but i do believe that if there are to be other life forms, then they cant be much different from us, gone through the same processes. and thus cant be more intelligent then us from an evolutionary stand point.
