Re: Churches - to have or not to have?

lmao, i've only seen 3 posts by agapooka, 2 of them in this thread, but i am a fan.

as for the actual buildings themselves, as semper pointed out, many of them are beautiful examples of the architectural advancements and proficiency of their constructing regions and time periods. however, as a whole, i feel they ARE needed. yes, i understand the meaning of church as per sandman, and i still say yes. although i am agnostic, i still believe that one can find god without obeying austere and obsenely stringent life styles, such as attending church on a specific day, daily worship, etc etc. however, the spiritual signifigance invested in churches gives religious groups a sense of community and commonality, which is comforting to those involved with the religions. im going to contradict myself in saying this, but im too lazy to go back up and delete it: althought they are no longer a physical necessity to their individual religious organizations, churches, temples, and mosques play too important a role to be realistically unessential.

by no means am i an expert, this is simply my personal opinion on the matter. refute it if you will, i am a very open-minded person and gladly accept criticism and imput on issues/topics such as these, it only furthers my spectrum of knowledge and angles in which to percieve these topics/issues.

i knew that the LHC was in some S place and france
you will have to excuse me as im from the most remote place on earth, Australia
:P

talking about this helped me to understand as to why a person would want a church
see, im the kind of person that doesnt care about the majority of people, so i dont care about a sense of community much.
which i think is why the idea of a church never appealed to me
that and the lack of moral fibre that they appeared to have during there middle years (so far) which they all claim to have
