A sound plan it is. Would it be better to have it checked or unchecked though...

Heh, sounds trivial, but people manage to complain about all sorts of trivial things on here, so might as well get it all right from day one.

personally I would like the ability to do this without having to use attacking forces at all - but I suppose that a price has to be paid - and that the attacking forces could be seen as cover or a diversion for the anti-covert team.

Well I would like a separate type of attack for assasins. I hate loosing them in battles even if I win that battle. If I would want to destroy some1's covert I would like to do it in another type of attack not when I'm attacking to get his naq.

You just need to be very careful about keeping counter-intel units. It's probably best to train them as needed, either to boost your rank (which means you need to stop attacking), or to destroy someone completely (which means you should train them by the time the opponent is running low on defense, so the last attacks will take out their covert without hurting your counter-intel too much.

If theyt were to be put in a separate attack type, it would have to be a destroy-type attack. Just aimed at damaging, not stealing anything.
