I am hopeful to get this warning appealed. I personally see the offense as minimal and the warning unfairly given.. firstly in regards to the breaking of rule 5.b (profanity). yes, it could be viewed as such but I personally don't see it as profanity but rather insinuating a "lude remark" made as a joke between myself and harchester. I don't feel it breaks rule 5.b in a way that would deserve an immediate warning because of its context - the posts order and harchs previous post then my response.

I believe the warning doesn't severely break rule 5.c (abuse/racism) as it is not racist in the slightest nor can I see it as abusive in its context again, the ordering of the posts, what has been said by harch and then my response?.

I also mention that this is my first board warning since i have joined the forums, over 2 years in time (look under the avatar). My record to date is clean and being such a small post with minor infringement if any when directly referring to the written rules, I don't see this warning as appropriate.

Also like to mention that offensive bias mentions that it wasn't noticed the first time the thread was read, and therefore apparently not a major offense?.. This point i feel credits a warning being over the top for the post made by me.

Issuing warnings for all the above posts.
It is pathetic, but I didn't notice these when I read the thread the first time.

You seem to forget that your 'lewd joke between yourself and harchester' is posted in a public place.
A place which has rules against this kind of talk, no less!


Aside from that, what I do and do not see when I read a thread while intoxicated -which was my situation the first time I read through the thread- is irrelevant to the issue. It says nothing about the nature of your comment; as you will find, I also missed dear Dark Trinity's sickening comments. Would my not noticing them the first time mean they're just as harmless as your self-proclaimed 'lewd joke'?
(Do not forget that previously, an ex-Admin was stripped of his special privileges for citing from the private forum.. so I urge you to tread lightly when you choose to do so.)


Contextually, the thread was charged with overly sexual comments, as I am sure you will agree. Your willful and intentional contribution to the thread have nothing to do with how you have behaved in the past. I am sure Tok`ra -to name someone- was a pretty nice boy the first time he came to the forums. Great guy, good chap. Did that stop him from getting permabanned, and permabanned, and permabanned? I think not. Your history is irrelevant.

What you personally see as an 'insinuation of a lewd joke' is entirely irrelevant to the warning given. Obviously your judgement is impaired in the matter, as it concerns you personally. Had you felt the other warnings were given unfairly, I am sure you would have had the consistency to complain about those as well. As those comments were all in the same league "sexually charged jokes unsuitable for the forums" (which falls under profanity due to the 'sex' element involved) and "inflammatory comments of a personal nature against a person" (which falls under abuse), I am sure you oppose a warning for the others as much as for yourself? Or do you contend that theirs are of a different class?


Is it not prudent, when warning people, to be consistent? I have maintained consistency by warning all offending parties. If through a failure on my part a warning has not been issued that should have been issued, that regrettable situation will be rectified.

Sorry Bias... I fail how to see why I personally should be appealing OTHER peoples warnings? Am i not in these appeals only to appeal my own warning? I am very sure if other parties feel wrongly warned THEY, the other's, will certainly appeal their OWN warnings will they not?

I will also point out that I could not care less weather or not you were drunk on your first passing of the thread... I just felt it was worth mentioning Thank you for the explanation though. I feel at ease with why you were unable to fulfill your mod duties while on the forum.

Also your reference to Tokra I say is also irrelevant, I merely ask for leniency on a small infringement.. like a verbal warning ? not a solid warning on my record..
But just for you I will kindly remind you this is NOT a perma banning case? Very bad things must be done or many little things, to earn you a perma ban right?

Please in future, less rambling about other people's problems? We are both here to discuss the possibility of appealing MY warning point given by you, not everyone who has been warned or permabanned... Thanks

Glad to read you understand why the warning was given, even if you still oppose it. The warning had the appropriate effect - it stopped you to think, and made you consider how to behave on the boards.
Because of that obvious effect, overturning that warning is an outcome I would not have an irreconcilable problem with, in your specific case. I still believe that warning you -and, even though you might feel it's irrelevant to mention, every other rulebreaker in that thread- was the right thing to do. I understand that you will do your best to avoid earning another warning in the future.

I trust the ombudsman will come to a proper judgement.

To keep this thread at least slightly focused, that is a different question, one you will have to ask the Administration.
This goes way beyond the Ombudsman's pay grade.

That's the nasty part of a public appeals process. Complaint - Counter - (Counter -) verdict. Logical. You say I made a mistake, which I could and would have corrected had you contacted me in private. You might not have known this, or have been told differently, and I can understand if you think "Issue with GM. Straight to Ombudsman."

I accept that publicity and sympathy were not your goals, and regret making it appear as though they were.

I dont see you any different then i have over my time on the forums, just another mod doing there job on the team, I also didn't mean to imply that someone suggested you were unreasonable...
