I agree renegadze, my complaint is with Dollar boy being personally involved as a resource seller and account buyer, whilst whining constantly about how unfair $$ warmongering is.

I'm not sure he's complaining so much about people spending $$, but more to the fact they think they are good at the game because of it. Claiming how easy it is to mass others and how they can take down any def.

JT doesn't think he's good because he spends $$, he KNOWS he's good because he has an empire to support him. He'd play the same way with or without spending cash on the game. Not that he spends anything like what you guys seem to think.

As for Qacol then i fought him plenty when he was in TA/Ricos, if you think he is a bad player then that is just bitterness speaking. If he would rather spend some money getting resources so he can smash the hell out of his enemies instead of spending hours and hours farming/raiding/arranging turns trades etc then it's his money, he can do that if he wants.

He plays the game to let off steam and kick some ass, something he does very well.

Would i spend that much on the game? Not in my current financial situation, but if i had $50 spare every week or 2 sure why not, it's better than wasting it on fast food or booze, smokes etc. No one ever died from playing SGW, although i think some of the whiners may come close to drowning in their own tears

eh? in my post I never mentioned anyone, yet you felt the need to pick 2 people out, assuming I was talking about them!

I was merely pointing out the point Neimenljivi was trying to make, and I tend to agree with him, spending $$ on the game, whether you can afford it or not does show a lack of capableness in being able to carry out the job without the need to find the credit card.

I think in 5 years of playing I am probably about $40 or so out of pocket from playing...so yes I must have been guilty of the above myself

Spending the money does not make you better or worse, it makes you significantly smarter in my opinion. I mean why waste the time if you don't have it spare or have better things to do, if you got the money and you earned it, spend it on some resources so you can spend your game time having more fun.

Particular someone doesn't have time to farm a bit, yet he can be up all night on TS & massing someone? Heck he can even reply and read all those topics that are about people who are apparently so insignificant and unimportant and keep track of them.
If we go there, why don't they buy the game instead? I mean it's a lot quicker to buy a game, login as admin and give yourself unlimited resources comparing with searching for someone that'll sell the naq every week, signing in your paypal account every time and sending the money - this is very time-consuming!

Haha. If your treating this game as a business opportunity then yes. Sure it's smarter. But the majority try to play the game as a game and dont consider the most efficient investment for maximising fun against time. Many including myself could afford what the big spender are paying for resources but in my opinion in ruins the sense of achievement which you get by playing without money.

The part about living in a capitalist world having any relevance made me chuckle though.

I also Naq farm.. to date Naquadah Stolen(0.0001) 1,547,266,252,908,608 but I do not raid, I buy uu and turns all the time. I just got 33 mil uu from naq I farmed this weekend. I play and enjoy the game and if I need naq or uu to do a job, I'll buy it. I know I've help lots of people in school and home who needed the cash and thank me for it.

I do not mind cash players, as long as they stay away from massing players I know, then acting all tough because each time they lose something..they can just spend a few more bucks on retrieving what was lost.

I could kick TTF or FUALL by myself if I was willing to spend the $$ to get the good net and then get the extra screen and then put it into my MS and army size and spy levels.. so I could ac whilst massing without care for time or uu loss and you'd probably all hang around me like flies to a certain dark substance saying how awesome I was after i'd hammered you for a year or so.

Save myself and the rest of the intelligent parts of the community the boredom of reading the rubbish. lol here we go again, Ive said many times that the game would be better and attract more new players if $$$ trades were not possible and I still think that.

BUT

Even I who hate the power of the $ in games recently used $$ trading to acquire a better account ( It actually cost me nothing but I had to put $$$s upfront then recoup them later ). And why did I do this, to get a fighting chance against others who have poured lots of $$$ into the game.

Reality check, there is was would be ideal and there is what is, nothing is perfect so deal with it and face the truth, if you or I had money to waste wouldnt we do the same as the big spenders ? Hell I know I would if I could afford too

Hate to break it to you big guy, but this game requires no skill whatsoever to play, just a half decent grasp of basic maths and some time on hand.

He sat on puny accounts and extorted resources, and did a piss poor job at it because I SAW THE ACCOUNT STATS when he ran, Bebita's post is spot on. When you were Elrikthedestroyer, you were a horrible player. You were big in army size, but you weren't the 'warmonger' you are today. When you joined DDE you constantly annoyed me on MSN asking if I wanted to go mass with you so you could 'learn from a great player'.

Since you're Mr. Know It All you would know that I left the game to go to College. I quit in May because I had just graduated high school and I wanted to enjoy my summer before going to college and become an officer in the United States Navy. However, due to me trying to fund my own college with little help from my parents I dropped out after one year.

Yes FUALL injected naq into my fleets. But I'd sold 200 mil UU of my own in order to obtain the fleets in order to take out Blahh's planets (which was the goal at the time.) Some people donated and some people did loans. The ones who did loans did get paid back. Anyone in DDE or OE got free planets if they needed a def massed. The account is still in DDE so don't know what the fuss is about.

JT, bottom line, if I or let alone any player had spent the $900 you've invested so far I'd have a nice account as yourself. You're not a true warmonger. You're the best $ spender, yes. But a warmonger, no. I won that award too....without spending a dime. However if I had $900 to toss into a free game I'd prolly still be in college. A car that isn't 20 years old. etc, etc, etc.

you told me the whole reason why you started spending money was because you couldn't keep up with MS's like R8's and Robes. People who have been playing for years and investing into it. You're basically saying they're better than you and since you sucked so bad you had to go get some $ in order to compete.

Bottom line. Spending money, so what. But it just goes to show that you can't compete.
