That's an intended measure, actually. If you attack someone whos I think 5x stronger than you, it will do that. It's a suicide attack. The defender takes no damage because the attacker was so outgunned and couldn't get a clear picture of the enemy before they had to run away. I think this was done partially to reduce the effectivness of 1-turn attacks instead of recon.
The way of the warrior is the path of shadow
The gift of the warrior is to perceive that which cannot be seen
The spirit of the warrior is to strike in a single moment
The destiny of the warrior is balance in all things
And when balance is lost, all that is left...
Is the Reckoning.

Basically it means the defender had such a huge numerical advantage that the attack was repelled so easily the attackers couldn't even see what kicked their butts. I've had reports back with up to 3x my damage being shown, but never anymore than that and i've had the "huge amount" reported once or twice.
I would assume if defense is 4x greater or more than the attack is then this result is recorded.
Bear in mind if you attack someone ranked below you they get their defense boosted by the rank modifier, so if they have a huge defense and are lower ranked it's not uncommon to get crushed so badly you get that message
